Honestly, I was annoyed and even got angry, cursing Fan Chang Yu when he drugged Xie Zheng with a drink. But OMG, just a few minutes later the story turned in favor of what the audience wanted. Fan Chang Yu managed to kill his opponent and secure the victory. I like the writer of this drama, he really knows how to satisfy the audience. LOL.
Reading the comments here feels like walking into a battlefield. 😅 Maybe we should take a step back. We’re all just viewers who came here for dramas and entertainment. If someone actually committed a crime, that’s something for the authorities to investigate...not the comment section. Until there’s real, verified information, spreading extreme accusations or conspiracy theories only creates more negativity. Personally, if I enjoy a drama, I watch it. If I don’t, I just drop it. As long as the story is entertaining, why would I skip it? I’m here to enjoy movies and dramas, not to judge the real lives of actors.
Since watching this drama, I’ve been suffering… suffering because I have to wait for the next episode. lol. It’s one of the few dramas where I didn’t skip a single scene.
I understand why it can feel like senseless killing. But for me, the villagers’ deaths actually make the story more tragic because they were the people who gave warmth to the main character’s life. Losing them makes the world around the protagonist feel emptier, which makes the emotional impact stronger.
I think "Pursuit of Jade (2026)" is one of the cruelest dramas I’ve watched. Usually, sad endings where the main character dies at the hands of the antagonist, or even chooses to end their life by jumping off a cliff, are already quite common in many dramas.
But this drama feels different. The writer chooses to kill off the villagers who sincerely care about and love the main character. Some of them can be a bit annoying at times, but they are still the kind of characters that add color to the story and make the drama more lively and enjoyable.
Because they are simple and sincere people, their deaths feel even more heartbreaking. It feels like the story is slowly taking away the warmth that surrounds the main character.
Even though this drama feels so cruel emotionally, I’ll still be waiting for the next episodes. I have a feeling this drama will always stay on my list of favorites.
I finally started watching dramas again after about 2–3 months, and somehow my first pick turned out to match my mood perfectly. I really like the storyline so far, and what I love the most is the balance between the two main characters. Usually in dramas one character is portrayed as weak while the other is the strong one, but here they actually feel very equal. They support each other and step in whenever the other needs help, which I really enjoy watching. I also want to give special praise to the female lead, her acting is amazing. She really went all out in her performance.
In 2022 I planned to watch this drama, it's only happened now. Even though there were a lot of skips, especially scenes about other pairs/couples of characters, the cooking scenes and the story of the two main characters together entertained me. .
Even though I have watched many of her drama, this is the first time I feel that Liang Jie is very beautiful. It seems like yesterday I forgot my glasses. lol.
I just started watching this drama, currently watching episode 2, this drama reminds me to "Love Between fairy and Devil". Btw, guys when ML falls in love, will there be many funny scenes, such as the man becoming stupid because he falls in love? I really like watching this kind of cuteness, seeing the ML or FL become stupid because of love.
For those of you who don't like too big an age gap, don't worry, this drama is safe. It tends to be more comedy than romance. The first minute of the first episode, I already laughed. LOL. Yeah, since long ago age is not a problem, as long as you have money then love will come. LOL.
