I am enjoying this drama so much. It has me watching every episode without skipping or forwarding. The two main leads have great chemistry and super sweet eye candy! Great plot with interesting twists, everything is orchestrated very well. This is one I will rewatch again! Directed by Zeng Qing Jie the show has a high quality cinematic feel. Filmed on location in Taizhou the scenery is rich and atmospheric using natural lighting rather than heavy filters. The set design for the village and butcher shop is detailed and realistic giving the world a tactile lived in quality. The action choreography is heavy and impactful matching the characters backgrounds and keeping the stakes feeling real.
Pursuit of Jade is a rare gem that treats its characters with intelligence. It is a must watch for those who want a strong independent female lead and a romance built on partnership.
