I don't know why Tencent and IQiyi keeps producing Danmei adaptations these year. What's the sense of producing if they will only put these series into dungeon? I don't get it.
Some says, "Immortality, and Eternal Faith are hard to pass censorship because of 40 episodes rule."
If so, how about Winner is King, Chasing the Light, and Dreamcatcher? They are qualified for the 40 episodes rule.
Censorship committee banned Danmei adaption. If so, why do Chinese mainland production keep producing and shooting danmei this year? I saw a lot of upcoming series based on danmei books.
No feminine boys/cross dressing on mainstream. I do have concern question about this one. Is this applicable to all series, or is this only applicable to danmei adaptions? If it is for all, why do other POPULAR and HETERO series passed censorship with having a character who cross dress? Is it because it is not the focus of the story? But then, according to statements, these acts will corrupt the minds of YOUNGER AUDIENCE.
Another thing, I though there's a banned in Time Travel plot series? A chinese series was recently broadcast. A modern girl who time travel from present to past.
I don't really get how Chinese Entertainment works. 😅
I'm kinda bothered. This series is the only shelved danmei confirmed to be release soon from dungeon. The pile of upcoming projects of Cheng Xing Xu keeps bothering me. If these upcoming projects (bxg) will be released first before this, and Cheng Xing Xu increased his popularity more then(Like Luo Yunxi) this might be pulled out, worst it will be back to dungeon. Given the past history of famous actors who played danmei...
The Untamed - you know what happened Word of Honor - Zhang Zhehan issue Justice in the Dark - Legal issue Spirealm - 2hrs premier. Junjie issue Addicted Heroin - banned
yall heard about guizhao? is it bromance? if yes how did they get permission to release it? what about my HYX??
Hi. I want to answer this question. Yes, I saw and heard about Gui Zhao. It's all over X and Tiktok. It is bromance, yes. They got permission to release it for so many reason. But I'll give the three main points.
1. Gui Zhao is not adapted from a Danmei or BL novel. It is a original script. The Chinese censorship committee allows these type of series to broadcast because they were not based from a homosexual/homoerotic novels. They allow bromance as long as they don't came from a danmei books/bl books. (Weird, right?)
2. The two main cast are both not popular in mainstream/public media. Unlike Chen Feiyu and Luo Yunxi from Hyx, they are still considering the actor's career if they launch these drama or not. These type of series can either boost these actors career to soaring popularity or destroy them in their lowest. (Examples: Yibo and Zhan's friendship from The Untamed got destroyed because of toxic fandom. Simon became popular after his Word of Honor but Zhang Zhehan got destroyed because of his post. Xia Zhiguang got popular after The Spirealm, but Junjie got destroyed and bashed because of his past issues.)
3. I don't know where I read this but I remember Youku and Mango TV are both independent companies. They are not too strict when it comes to censorship and broadcasting unlike IQiyi and WeTV/Tencent which they go through rigorous review and editing scenes before they broadcast a series.
Observe Youku, Mango TV, IQiyi, and Tencent's bromance.
Youku - Word of Honor
Mango TV - Killer and Healer
IQiyi - Winter Begonia (I want to consider The Spirealm here as an example but it got take down after few hours because someone reported it.)
Tencent - The Untamed
Both Word of Honor and Killer and Healer express there affection to one another obviously. They don't filter much. Unlike The Untamed and Winter Begonia, they express their affection lowkey, hiding behind their eyes. They censored too much! ðŸ˜
At this point, I don't mind anymore if Taiwan will re-create and adopt this to a new sets of actors in their country. As long as they will smoothly and surely broadcast it. Tired of waiting.

If May 1 happens to be true, that would be a good move for the film. If China has still strict rules regarding adaptations, broadcasting 2 both popular series is a good idea. You know why? This is to neutralize the roaring popularity of both parties. It's a psychic way of consuming excitement because you can't decide what to watch first. The idea of short live broadcast adds to drama of the execution. That part will minimize the people who can access the series since it will take down after a few hours.
The broadcast of the Spirealm opened a loophole for the other buried dangai to broadcast and see the light. I think, they are following what they do to The Spirealm. That way, they are neutralizing the issue surrounding these series.
Idk why there are a lot of people complaining abt how the het couple will have more screentime than the bl one,…
They also tried before to introduce gay characters and couples like Love with Flaws, Wedding Impossible (TvN and the most recent one), Prison Playbook, Moment at Eighteen, Reply 1997, and Life is Beautiful.
I'd rather see this show cancel than watch Jiyu and Chanyoung having more screentime with the real couples. 🙄 What a lowkey homophobic act for TvN to twitched its story line. Jiyu and Chanyoung isn't couple in the webtoon to begin with! If they want to push it, they should've renamed the series as 'Chanyoung in Class 2' or 'Jiyu in Class 2'. What's the essence of Heesu's name if they focus to this non-existing couples in the webtoon. I know I'm mad that's why I said this things like this. But I've waited years to watch this then what? They'll give this kind of story? Nah!
If they badly want to produce het couples, i suggest don't adapt BL webtoons and twitch its story for a bullshit censorship pass so it can air to mainstream.
If this is the case, why not hyx ??They should release it !....Y are they delaying it !!come on Tencent!💔
The production of The Spirealm released an official statement about its shutdown issue. There wasn't technical issue happened there as it was supposed to broadcast that day according to there license date...the producer said that someone reported the series, and the platform shut it down.
came across this info for the reason of cancelation. This site indicated this series is CANCELLED which sank my…
I think you've got it wrong. This series wasn't cancelled. If this series was stopped in 2021, how come they still continue shooting it till 2022? They wrapped this series in the last quarter of 2022.
I still don't have news regarding of its official licensing in mainland, but if this series didn't applied for mainland broadcast...it has a big chance we can see it internationally. I've read a rumors, just this month, that this series will possibly broadcast externally (a non-mainland, I guess?).
If they follow the pacing process of this kind of series, 2024 is will be the right time to release this. 2 years is enough for post-production, application for broadcast, and other stuff.
Okay, please tell me why this isn't sold to netflix yet? While selling the rights to Netflix might result in a…
Sadly, they can't sell it to international. According to what I've heard, Immortality is registered in NRTA. Which means this is bad news. If a series is registered in NRTA, they can't sell it internationally YET as this is intentionally and purposely to broadcast FIRST in mainland.
About the ban you've mentioned, someone in the twitter explained this. The NRTA released an official statement about this. There's no ban, but these danmei adaptions have strictly and heavily monitored from them once it's broadcast. One wrong move of the series, or wrong move from the actors involved...they will shutdown the whole series.
That explains the banishment of Justice in the Dark and The Spirealm.
