Can anyone interpret the texting thing in the end to me? Because based on my understanding, current Ryo and Zen planned to book a hotel for something? Since they talked about it before. But after the scene where current Ryo looks at the messages, high school Zen pops up and sees the same exact message, and he smiles. So I'm not sure what's going on here🥹 It will be weird if Ryo was seeing old message s cuz I don't think they were doing stuff like that in high school.
Personally I really liked it. It may lack any real intimacy scenes or romantic development but you can sense it in the way they protect and yearn for eachother. Imo as the person below me said, it's like weak hero but with BL elements. The best way to watch this is don't expect this is a bl while watching this. If you treat it as a action movie, plot wise it's actually really good. I watched this without any expectations, and the BL part is surprisingly very good. This can be turned into a series that can have more romantic development or backstory. Nevertheless, it's well executed and simple story with not much strings attached.
I'm so impatient. The 2nd ep just dropped and already want more!!! Their tension is crazy. Poor Ryo its the yearning in his eyes 😭😭 he's in love but his lil Zen won't get it yet. Ryo is so down bad for Zen that he almost forgot Zen wasn't sincere. Them hugging while Zen slept like a baby!!! The hand placement!! UGHH this episode is so perfect. Peak JBL. When Zen said he was jealous me as a viewer almost believed him because he looked just too cute.
Next ep is so spicy cuz I can't believe they're actually staying SO TRUE to the manga lmfao.

The eps are prob too less to be having smooth pacing. Things have to be sped up in order to conclude the story. Also I noticed ppl are having double standards on pacing on shows. No shade to fwyf, but the other day when I commented on one particular BL that has horrendous pacing I get jumped just because it was such a highly rated drama 😭

for more context, guang Ming's dad was killed by jia Hua's dad, and guang Ming and jia hua both share the same crush, tang Jia qi. Jia qi is like the big bro of guang Ming, and jia qi once kissed Jia hua but Jia hua ran away. + Guang Ming saw the kiss.
I dont think we'll get much of them cz it's a 9 ep drama and they still need to cover the main couple's love story…
The mystery solving and etc will involve guang Ming and jia hua, so we'll Def get them to interact. I'm guessing with only 9 eps all we will be getting is them with the main cp. However, I'm guessing probably some tension will happen because the note Jia hua left on the bed for guangming hasn't been revealed yet, and they say it's a plotline.
If s2 is happening, and if we get a chance to focus of second cp, there will be Def a lot of angst because their relationship is so complicated (more complicated than main cp I would say) and I would gladly let it marinate.

Ikrr I was absolutely flabbergasted when I heard the real life version of the characters (it's an autobiography! It's based on the author's relationship) that yulei and oo ended up tgt and Chen ke lived his own life afterwards. However, in the novel Chen ke and yulei has a happy ending.
