I'm watching on MGTV since its region locked for me (I'm in Europe) on WeTV /Tencent and IQIYI and Viki's schedule is behind, unfortunately the subs are not the best tho((
This review was so spot on, i just wanted to appreciate it for a moment šDefinitely felt like they skipped…
Thank you for reading! šš Yes, this is the norm for mini dramas, they leave a lot to be interpreted at the viewer's discretion and the pacing is either on steroids or stuck in a loop š still it has it's charm and definitely a distinct vibe with this one. I feel like this is the mandatory check-mark to be ticked for a historical drama - it all comes down to palace coups and intrigue lol, had to roll my eyes because it's a preset formula.... Yep, the visuals and acting of the leads worked really well, I still remember this drama even if it was months ago, (the majority of these are forgettable ) so thats definitely saying something.
Love this take š honestly same energy here. I went in with zero expectations and ended up enjoying it way more…
I peaced out from the Rebirth comment section a few days ago because it was very negative, even before the drama started properly airing people were already complaining. Everyone has their opinions which is absolutely fair, but I wish people would also focus on the things that do work instead of the things that don't ,but oh well.... Short dramas are pretty fun and there are a quite a few hidden gems as well. Enjoy the journey!
I'm at the 12th episode meaning that it is worth my time compared to other airing Cdramas. I haven't rated it…
Love this take š honestly same energy here. I went in with zero expectations and ended up enjoying it way more than I thought. Itās not trying to be anything grand or overly serious, just a light, easy watchāand it works.
Definitely one of those āwatch with a relaxed mindset and just go with the flowā kind of dramas āØ
Can you tell me which of her dramas she "delivers" on? Because I'm not familiar with her, and I think…
She was the SFL in the Butterflied lover one, the one paired with Deng Kai, also supporting role in Hard to find. Here it's definitely not the best performance . If it's such a struggle maybe skip this one?
Idk yāall, Iām actually having fun with this šāØ maybe because my expectations were low lol The leads definitely have the rangeāIāve seen them deliver when given the right materialābut hey, rent is due and bills donāt pay themselves š and for what this type of drama is, itās honestly pretty entertaining. Yeah, itās extra. Yeah, the budget is⦠doing its best. And sure, the humor can get a little cringe here and thereābut Iāve seen way worse lately, so Iām not mad at it. Iām just here for the ride, it's not that deep āØ
I get itācomparisons to PA are inevitable, and honestly, fair. But itās also fair to let this drama breathe a little. The production quality is genuinely stunning, and itās been nine years⦠the odds of that original cast magically reuniting were never exactly in our favor, letās be real š
Anyway, Iāll happily keep watching and enjoying it ⨠just⦠from a safe distance from this comment section. Catch yāall somewhere less chaotic šļø
Iāve watched the first five episodes, and Iām genuinely enjoying this so far. The cinematography and directing are absolutely stunningāthereās a certain richness to the visuals that really pulls you in. The characters all feel intense and layered, which makes the story even more engaging.
Iāll admit, my first thought was wow, the actress playing the FL is very youngābut credit where itās due, sheās holding her own quite well. Itās still early, of course, but sheās delivering a solid performance so far.
I did watch PA years ago, though I barely remember the detailsāitās interesting how certain elements are starting to come back to me as I go through this. I understand why comparisons are inevitable since this is a sequel, but Iām approaching this more as a semi-separate drama, while still keeping PA in mind as a reference point, especially for the overarching story.
Watched the first 6 episodes ā itās actually a really nice watch so far. The visuals are gorgeous and the plot is interesting enough to keep me hooked š āØšæ It does start off with a bit of love-hate tension, and the ML is⦠quite intense š a little too much choking for my taste but a fun ride for the genre, definitely best enjoyed when not taken too seriously š«¶
I only just started this today and I am already on episode 10. It is indeed quite silly but there's something…
Oh you're fast, I'm only on ep.7 šš This definitely has its charm and I love the leads, just wish it went into a more original direction ( I'm refering to the ML who's supposed to be this cool well established lawyer but acts like he's in high school and with all the lies it's painful for me, but I understand tho cause that's the point of it š)
