Bro, nothing hits like an unhinged, emotionally complicated ML with a devastating backstory ruining our peace, poor pookie 😭😭😭 The first episodes were confusing in a “trust the process” kind of way, but it actually becomes fun. The comedy is working, the FL + SML duo is hilarious, and somehow the show keeps improving episode by episode. I’m officially invested in the chaos. Y'all show runners, you better not let us down!
Hahahaha hello my co-certified skipper.. I'm actually same as you but in here, I have a hard time watching and…
YEEEES, I'm super excited, waited FOREVER for this drama, it's high priority on my PTW. DEFINITELY WATCHING :D I love the cast a lot, the story is cool (I've read the novel) and I really like the director, he has a lot of great dramas and mini dramas that are my favorite, he directed A familiar stranger and Butterflied Lover which are one of my fave short dramas.
Lmao, I have a friend here that is also super feral for them pookies and some of them I contributed to make her a fan and I'm super proud ahahahahahah
For me if the cast is eye candy with good chemistry and decent acting, I'm already down, it really depends on the mood and what drama I was watching before that lol...after TFF I couldn't get into anything for like 2 months((((
Lol that's cool to have a lot on the PTW, my list is now only with dramas that haven't aired yet.
Yes, I've blocked a lot of inappropriate commenters and I didn't want it to ruin my experience, generally there are a lot of nice people to talk to around here so it's fun, but also this require the time I don't have lately((((( I need a vacation lol
Yeees, I'll start catching up to GtG's episodes, I've heard good things lol.
Bahahaha, not surprising, unfortunately people like to project and personify the character onto the actor which is not fair, and I hope he's not getting bullied or anything. I enjoyed him in Coroner's Diary haha.
BTW, feel free to DM me if you want cause it's getting too long here it takes forever to scroll ahahahahha
Hahahaha hello my co-certified skipper.. I'm actually same as you but in here, I have a hard time watching and…
Yup, I have my share of pookies to admire in cdramaland))))
GOTD is pretty good if you want a good comedy and adventure. I wasn't expecting much and had nothing to watch at the time so I just started watching it and I was surprised of how much I liked it considering I'm not really a DW fan, but he's actually great in comedy. The romance is not the main plot and the ending is more like an opening to a 2nd season so it doesn't feel wrapped up at all, so there is that. I recommended it to my cousin and he loved ahahaha. Small victories.
Yes, I am watching airing dramas now because I've watched everything I wanted to already and ran out of dramas, plus if they have my favorite actors I'm usually supporting them. Sometimes it's nice to hang out in the comment section but sometimes it's quite negative out there so I am not commenting super often lol. I only left some comments in GtG because so many people were bitching about it, and I'm like y'all haven't seen bad lol.
Yep, many dramas have the same tropes which are executed lazily and sometimes it's repetitive and I end up dropping it, like y'all played around too much and I don't care anymore. Ah, messy realistic love stories is not for the weak hehe hope you're having fun!
I am also working from home, but it's been a super busy beginning of the year for me, and GtG still hasn't gotten me to the point where I must drop everything and watch it, it's actually nice to have some episodes piled up for the weekend lol. Oh no, not the delulu SML!! Please y'all need to give him his own love story....I mean I like when the ML is a bit jealous but within reasonable limits. The actor who played Situ Ling got so much hate, poor guy, he only did his job very well ahahahaha.
Hahahaha hello my co-certified skipper.. I'm actually same as you but in here, I have a hard time watching and…
Hehe, I also have tons, but would say my top menace for my sanity (thats how I named my list) are HMH, HY, RC, ZLH and BJT. I do like a lot of them but these are my top favourites. My fave girlies would be LL, LYX, MZY, TXW, WCR, ZJY, ZRN, ZY etc here are some of my lists:
Yes yes, most of the time I like my unrealistic eye candy, if I want realistic stuff, I'd go watch a documentary hahah, that being said if I'm in the mood I'd watch for thr good plot - that's me with the Guardians of the Dafeng lol.
Yes, being a cdrama fan is not for the weak but it's also hilarious cause we get episodes everyday when its airing and for kdramas it's once a weel, yet still it's tough out there, they really love their express and rushed endings if we get some.....
Lmao honestly, after all this time, a lot of dramas seem very similar, I mostly watch for the cast but I can say I've already seen everything lol I can't be surprised by anything anymore)))))
Yes, Mobius started great but they just kept revolving around that first case and I got tired of watching... Oh, lol, didn't know thare was a BJT movie called Yesterday once more bahaha, although I really liked the one with Arthur and Zhou Ye.
Haha no worries, I also need to catch up with GtG because I'm behind now cause I've been crazy busy(((((((( hope it is getting better and better
Hahahaha hello my co-certified skipper.. I'm actually same as you but in here, I have a hard time watching and…
Sure, I have no problem talking even if someone else reads ahahahahaha Nope, I'm generally not big on retro dramas, I'll watch only if my favourites are in it lol.
I watch almost every genre, as long as I like the leads or at least I find them attractive ( I'm shallow like that haha) and if it's a good story. I would say I love costume drama since these are the most cdramas I have watched, but I watch about anything, depends on the mood as well. LITC gave me everything I wanted to see in a romance, absolute eye candy leads, likeable characters, chemistry was fire and the ending was great, there was not much filler there ( not surprising since the director is a short drama director, so everything was on point). All of these are quite rare in dramas, plus HMH and LYX are my favourites and them having a drama together is the best gift!
Lol, I can totally get that, I dropped a ton of drama s as well, when watching becomes a chore, I usually drop it. LOTFG - I stayed only for the leads, and because I liked the story a lot, just wish they didn't have the breakup/separation trope - hate that lol. Yup, love that some cdramas are more available as well on streaming platforms like Netflix and even Disney Plus, they deserve more recognition. Yes, they are quite greedy with the express! Also, idk why is it so hard to have a normal schedule, like y'all, for this semester we're releasing so and so, but nooo, we have to keep guessing and then they air drop it, and some pf them are even region blocked for me.....quite the journey ahhahaah
Yeah, Miss the dragon the leads were a train wreck, loved the second leads, but it was my first ever dramas so i didn't know better ahaha
Yeah, I definitely lose interest in some, I am a binger ao I like so binge stuff in one go, I also skip so I watch them quickly, and if I skipped a lot and still know what's going on that a very heavy sign of a lot of filler scenes. I know some viewers appreciate the slow pacing but I have no patience, I like when things happen on point, no irrelevant and side quests, that is why I like mini dramas, some of them ar pretty great. Yes love BJT!! I started Mobius with him but dropped for some reason, even though the start was pretty good but then it became very dragging for me. Yesterday once more - isn't that Arthur Chen though?
2:30 am??? Girl go to sleep ahahah, we can definitely talk more tomorrow :))))))
Hahahaha hello my co-certified skipper.. I'm actually same as you but in here, I have a hard time watching and…
Wow lol I gotta think, that last historical will probably Glory with HMH. Loved many things about that drama, but also some choices did not sit well with me. After LITC I was a mess, but I did watch a bunch of cdramas, including mini dramas, just cannot say it was wow. I watche da couple of kdramas, but I prefer cdramas tbh for various reasons.
Oh, I feel you, not a fan of airing cdramas as well, for one, I'm really particular they have a happy ending, which is not known when it's airing. Plus there's this whole weird express and sVIP packages for airing dramas, although GtG so far has only VIP which is weird lol.
Agreed. I'd say the costume drama looks good, but only if styled properly. Based on the trailer, I initially thought this will not really be an idol drama ( maybe that's why there are a lot of nitpickers because the trailer did set a whole other premise and vibe for this, which is not there yet, maybe it will be). I love his acting, tho I would say that he is indeed well suited for heavier roles, agreed on that.
Lol, well cdramas is a whole other dimension, there are people that are not used to the whole costume drama genre, many episodes is also a factor and idk, maybe it's not that popular, I consider it a niche only because I cannot seem to find any people around me that actually watch them lmao. Nope, I did not watch any kdrama before randomly seeing a clip on youtube like 5 years ago and i was like ''wth is that and where can I watch it?'' It was the cdrama Miss the Dragon, which is not that good imo but it was completely different from what I usually watched so I continued my journey and somehow watched over 400 dramas since then lol. My cousin watched a few, the most popular ones: LITC, LOTFG, LGIEF, MM and GOTD but he watches them veeeeery seldom, like once in a few month, lmao in a few months I watch idk...a dozen? Yeees, loved Reset a LOT, been a fan of BJT ever since then and TFF is my ride or die with him.
Hahahaha hello my co-certified skipper.. I'm actually same as you but in here, I have a hard time watching and…
Yeah, it's fairly easy to follow the plot now. For me the toughest ones to follow is the historical ones cause they have a bunch of politics and talking nevertheless I did love Fated Hearts rightaway, and Blossom or LLTG, it really is a big variety. I'm glad you're having tons of drama to watch at the moment, for me it's more on the drought side lately, perhaps I'm in a slump haha.
Yeah, I've noticed the awkward angles too. The director should know better, and work to find the flattering positions that would amplify the presence, the flare. It's definitely not a one size fits all. I also loved him since WIFTY, he did a great job in 12 letters too. Never seen him in a costume drama tho.
Lol, well I did manage to convert my cousin and he watched a few but not nearly enough for me lmao. Yup, stumbled accidentaly on my first cdrama around 5 years ago and have never been the same 😻
Hahahaha hello my co-certified skipper.. I'm actually same as you but in here, I have a hard time watching and…
Same, I only started this because of ZYR (he's a pookie with a nice voice and dimples lmao), I also like the FL , liked her in Youthful Glory ( except the terrible voice dub in that one) apart from the lack of fighting skills, I'd say she plays here quite a similar character.
People are unusually nitpicky with this drama to be honest. If you've been around the cdrama block, this is pretty usual for a Wuxia, it definitely takes time to set the story, a whole ton of characters, some side quests, acting all silly for a while before it gets serious. Unless it really goes downhill and the leads are a train wreck, I'm planning to watch this one.
LITC took me some episodes before I completely fell in love with it, definitely my fave drama from last year!
Yes, I'm from Eastern Europe, so I get to watch this right before work while having a nice coffee and tryin to wake up and understand whats going on 🤣
No worries, I don't really have any friends in real life to talk about cdramas, most of them are kdrama fans so it's nice chatting ;)
Hahahaha hello my co-certified skipper.. I'm actually same as you but in here, I have a hard time watching and…
Lol, we definitely gotten used to it ahaha, I haven't watched today's episodes yet, but by ep.7 it has certainly gotten better. For me there are different levels of ''testing out'' a drama, sometimes you kinda know from episodes 1 that this is not it, but in most cases it need like 6-10 episodes to fully decide if this will be worth it. Hopefully this one is going to get better and better 🤞
I get you, I try no to read the novels before watching the drama because it is usually a disappointment. This one airs for me at 6 am so I'm kinda half-asleep at that point so I need extra brain cells lmao Hahaha girl, no worries, nice talking to you too!!😻
It’s really interesting seeing how people are viewing this drama from different perspectives. Some theories…
Thank you 😻
There are so many factors that make a drama work for someone — your mood, your headspace, the cast, your personal preferences — so I can’t really argue with any of that.
At the same time, I’ve seen a lot of recent dramas get huge praise while not necessarily leaving a lasting impression, whereas this one is being dissected from every angle. So I figured I’d share my POV too 🙌
The comment section is pretty split over this drama, so here’s my mildly chaotic two cents.
I’m almost done with episode 7 and I can’t lie — it’s making more sense now. Either my brain adapted to the lore dump or the show finally decided to breathe. Hard to tell. I’m remembering the side characters, I’m following the main plot, and I’m no longer squinting at the screen like I missed a secret council meeting.
Is it perfect? No. Does it feel slow and overloaded at times? Yes. But is it the unwatchable disaster some comments are making it out to be? Also no.
I came for romance. I stay for romance. I’m simple. The leads’ dynamic is working for me, and the ML already being slightly possessive? I’m seated. I’m not dissecting every clan grudge or lineage detail — I’m just enjoying the ride.
Obviously, different people watch for different reasons, so there’s that.
Hahahaha hello my co-certified skipper.. I'm actually same as you but in here, I have a hard time watching and…
Yeees, definitely information overload 😹 Lmao I had the same issue at first — especially since so many of them have similar hairstyles and outfits, which makes it harder to tell everyone apart. It does get better as the episodes go on, though. I’m almost done with episode 7 now and I’m remembering the side characters more easily and following the main plot much better. Not sure if it’s just because I’ve gotten used to the chaos or if the story is finally settling into itself… maybe both. The leads do love jumping into side quests before we’ve fully processed the main one. But I'd say I'm 10-12% more invested now ahahaha
previous generation story is crystal clear as i remember all the character and their face with them, cai ping…
I get what you mean — the previous generation arc did feel more emotionally anchored, though it definitely had events that happened off-screen, not always in line with the ‘official’ history we’re shown ( at least that's what I'm getting). The current one still feels like it’s arranging the board, leaving a lot of in-between events for us to guess at. I’m also hoping it tightens up from episode 6 onward.
Hahahaha hello my co-certified skipper.. I'm actually same as you but in here, I have a hard time watching and…
Haha thank you fellow co-certified skipper 😁 I'm glad I'm not the only one lol, I would say editing wise, the random slo-mo sequences are the ones that lowkey bug me the most, otherwise it's pretty good so far, hope it will gradually get better and better 🤞🤞🤞
After watching the first five episodes, I can definitely see the potential. I also understand why some viewers are frustrated with the pacing, editing, and the sheer number of characters being introduced. It asks for patience.
Personally, I’m enjoying it — but it doesn’t quite have me in a chokehold yet. More of a steady tug than a death grip. The first five episodes somehow felt longer than five, probably because you actually have to pay attention. This is not a “skip-through-and-vibe” kind of drama. As a certified skipper, I had to behave.
I really like the leads. The FL’s character is clearly and thoroughly established from the start — she’s not a pushover, she can fight, and she has a strong moral compass. That foundation feels solid. The ML is clearly fueled by hatred and revenge, but I like that he’s soft toward her almost immediately — without it clouding his judgment (so far). I’m still trying to fully read him.
I can see why it’s called G2G — the previous generation’s drama is clearly bleeding into the next one. Inherited grudges always make things messier.
Cinematography-wise, it’s beautiful. Some shots are genuinely stunning, and I love how much they use natural landscapes.
There's two kinds of slo-mo. The wind machine generated kind and the kind that makes it seem edgy for no reason.
yeah, I was mentioning in an earlier comment how this reminds me a lot of TD style of shots and even dialogue and I just looked it up it's the same director lmao🤦♀️
The first episodes were confusing in a “trust the process” kind of way, but it actually becomes fun. The comedy is working, the FL + SML duo is hilarious, and somehow the show keeps improving episode by episode. I’m officially invested in the chaos. Y'all show runners, you better not let us down!
