Yeah, I will probably check out a few more episodes. This is dark romance after all and I sorta expected that the ML will have very volatile edge. Nevertheless, I'm struggling big time.

I watched 8 episodes so far and yes the ML is a huge toxic flag and idk if I can root for the leads romantically atp even if he changes later on😭 I'm very conflicted as well.

Oh yes, I enjoyed FH a lot and I remember bits of that part even tho i skipped most of the healers sect ark🤣

I binged the first 15 eps in 2 days and I didn't feel the pacing issues that badly, however since switching to 1-2 eps a day I can definitely feel it and the plot and events start feeling repetitive. The mess somehow gets amplified when there is time to marinate between episodes lmao them mushrooms must be tasty cause fr they keep taking them more and more as the story goes. I hoped we would be done with the cheating scummy husband by now but I guess the whole drama is only about that which if it's the case, this does not need 28 eps imo.

TVB is great and keeping me on edge. Hope we get a really good payoff with that one.

Absolutely. TEE is even more dangerous because while republican and costume dramas do make it more easy to distinguish between fiction and reality, the modern setting and the reality of such men is scary and quite accurate. A toxic man does not to be physically abusive and harass the girl. Take away the cinematic lighting and the romantic soundtrack and it becomes a documentary, not a romance drama. I watched TEE but I fought for my life in the comment section and the amount of leeway viewers gave to the ML and endless excuses they found for him was astounding, a lot of them somehow blamed the FL for everything. I enjoyed parts of that drama ngl, but I am still left even now with a weird after taste in my mind whenever I think about it. I stopped at ep.8 for the Lament drama, because I'm watching The Vanishing Beauty rn, and idk if I should continue, because I just know they will redeem and turn this plot around and it will become this epic love story and idk what to think of it.

I agree. I love both leads, I don't mind a dark romance but it depends what message it's trying to convey and this one really depicts the picture that FL's lack of consent is just an ''obstacle'' in their love story. Granted, I knew what I was getting myself into, but I wish people would stop romanticizing this kind of behavior, because it becomes problematic especially for the younger audience. If the ML were less attractive people would be spinning a different story.

she is, she could just ask, and issue solved. It's also not really necessary to add another conflict, cause this drama is already messy as hell. Plus this kang dude was talking about his 10 year old ''baby'' in front on the girl he likes, he could at least elaborate.

I thought basically the same thing ngl. Wouldn't put that past DLR at all. Especially that he was already courting YM while still being married to LH. I think he did used her desperation as a mother for her sick child. At least LH did save YM's dad and if he manages to come out of it alive it'll be a miracle and if not, than there really is not bottom line for them, cause I'm sure DLR is somehow responsible for his state rn...

I can understand DLR curating this image of the FL where her credibility has been systematically undermined especially to run a company, but from a business and corporate standpoint it was pissing me off a little and felt like they specifically wrote the characters dumber than usual to make DLR a more capable villain, which was not needed. He is pretty cunning already.

Agreed. He's such a pure heart in all of this, I really hope he will go back to UK or just stay away from all this mess cause I don't want him to get hurt

Haha, I usually go for mini dramas if I want messy, but this one is so well done. I really hope we're getting a good payoff with all this mess.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if someone ends up dead, and also I would not be surprised if the FL's car accident 5 years ago was arranged by DLR in the first place....

Agreed, I'm happy the FL has the EQ to first of all separate Harry from all the affair related to his parents and not implicating him in all of this, even though she could if she really wanted to, and also still help him out and treat him as a friend.
On another note, I don't know how to explain it but Yu Meng is giving me the same vibes as Elle from legally blonde (random comparison) 😂
Agreed about LH omggggg my blood pressure is high whenever I see her acting high and mighty and all wronged...
