I actually did not even have TVB on my radar, saw a few clips on my feed and I was sold, the plot is great and keeps me on the edge of my seat, plus the characters are sooo messy omg so happy I started it cause many modern dramas were not hitting it lately...

For real, this drama turned out so good. I mostly don't pay attention to MDL ratings, especially for an ongoing drama, they are usually not reliable at all. For example I just finished A Prophet with Li Yi Tong as the FL and it has a lower rating that this one I think, but it's SO good albeit completely different genre.

Tbh sometimes she pisses me off the most ( obviously DLR is the shadiest of them) but girlie out there acting so entitled it's downright delusional to act the victim when you set all this crap in motion yourself....

Exactly. I feel like the main lesson, or takeaway for her is to become her own person and to figure stuff on her own. I feel that only then can a genuinely strong romance bloom. Plus from the hints we've been shown in today's episodes, looks like the ML has his own story and perhaps he approached her on purpose with an ulterior motive, but who knows.
I also appreciate the beautiful friendship the FL and her bestie have.

I feel some viewers may be frustrated by the lack of romance, but the FL is still married, and the ML's feelings are only gradually hinted at. For now, their relationship is understandably more platonic, built on trust, mutual respect. Personally, I appreciate that the drama doesn't force romance into the middle of everything she's going through. The main focus is her fight against a husband who spent five years manipulating her and everyone around her, so dismantling that web of deception was never going to be easy. Are there plot holes? Absolutely, but a villain being consistently two steps ahead isn't inherently bad writing. He's managed to deceive everyone for five years for a reason, and not every setback is pointless dragging.

That said, I binged all 15 released episodes in two days, so I can see how the experience might be different for those watching since day one and waiting for new episodes. I've been on the other side of that experience myself, and I know how the wait can affect one's perception of pacing.

yeah, it has the ''to be continued'' sorta vibe which would've been nice to be like a full on completed end of the story, but at least they tied the major loose ends i guess))))

That and the childhood connection one - it's like a romance can't happen if the leads did not meet when they were kids, I'm so done with this one too lol

Haha, I entered accidentally in the cdrama land just cause if a short clip on my feed a few years ago and haven't looked back ever since. Jerome is pretty good, I like when his characters are morally gray or evil even, it suits him. Towers of whispers was pretty great.

Yes, another reason to love the drama is that I remember empathizing with the bad guy and actually felt for him :(

The lack of communication trope should be banned for a decade at least because 9 out of 10 dramas uses it and idk why, it makes me lose the investment and interest ( even tho irl a lot of chaos happens because of lack of communication, but dang it, i watch dramas to have a pause from real life not be reminded of it 🤣)

Yey, glad you continued watching it because it is a very good drama that can stand on it's own even compared to full length ones. I watched it a year ago and haven't rewatched it since but I still remember it in general lines ( I should rewatch it to remember the details). This director made another mini drama that aired almost at the same times as Gemini, even tho can't say the ML is my type but it was fun nonetheless.

Right now I'm watching the republican drama A Prophet, it's like this thriller mystery sort of drama and it's actually pretty good so far.

Started the first 3 eps today and I'm really invested, love it so far 👏👏👏

Oh ok, maybe I'll check out the Begonia one some time cause it sound good, but miscommunication is a trademark atp, the drama that don't use this trope are basically unicorns.

Oh boy, that was a rough introduction tbh, lol fitting title cause republicans are notorious for their sad endings lol.
My first short format (cause its not mini, but more like short 20-28 mins per ep) one was Butterflied Lover and I really liked it.
But boy do they serve some unhinged dark romance, like Sinful marriage - I thought it's another one where the ML is being an a-hole and the FL just suffers, but boy, she ended up crazier than him ahahaha there are a lot that actually have intriguing concepts, like Half awake in a fleeting life - quite unusual plot, The Rebirth, A Lucid Dream (the plot twist was crazy), The Maid is pretty good albeit nothing unconventional, just a well served revenge drama, and SO MANY MORE✨

Agreed, I like this short format too, but I'm very picky nowadays, mostly because I watched a lot and it's hard to find something worth investing the time in, plus depends on the mood.

It's been a hot minute since I watched this so I'm hazy with the details, but for sure, it's one of the better mini dramas imo, yes, agreed about the TVD reference! This actress is really good and I enjoy the majority of her dramas (not all tho cause some are pretty meh)..
I remember being annoyed with the ML as well, but *spoiler* I think they clear it up in the next episode, hence me appreciating it even more.
Definitely more engaging than some of the full cdramas that aired this year tbh. Omg Maid's revenge wrecked me but i don't remember checking out The Revenge of Begonia :) The pacing issues does come with the territory I'm afraid, and despite a lot of mini dramas being extra and hyper stimulating, you can stumble on a gem or two every now and then💅
