this is how it should be but helas other dramas get full haters, hate on the characters.
True, I’ve yet to come across a drama that doesn’t attract at least some negativity or hateful comments. I usually just ignore them—at the end of the day, there’s no “one size fits all.” Everyone watches with different tastes and expectations, so whether they like it or not is entirely up to them.
As for the more inappropriate comments, I learned early on that engaging with people who argue just for the sake of arguing is a complete waste of energy… the block button has never failed me 😂
I’ll definitely think about this comment section every time I rewatch POJ 😂 it really went through all the character arcs—some days it was a literal minefield, some days pure wholesome vibes, other days everyone collectively stressed out like we were in the plot ourselves 💀 one thing it NEVER was though? boring. 10/10 emotional rollercoaster, would suffer again with you all 🤝
It does make sense—I mainly watch dramas for the romance, so in that regard I really love this one. That said,…
That’s actually really interesting to hear from a writer’s perspective—it makes sense why you’d be more critical. I hope you do find a 10-star drama soon! I’m mostly here for the romance anyway…since real life isn’t exactly delivering on that front haha 😅

For me, my rating system leans a bit differently. If a drama manages to hook me emotionally—through the romance, chemistry, characters, and overall aesthetic—and I know I’ll want to revisit it, it usually lands in the 9–10 range for me, even if there are some narrative gaps or uneven pacing. The one thing I struggle to overlook, though, is excessive dragging or filler—that’s usually what impacts my rating the most.
On the cast, I get what you mean about TXW, but she’s actually one of the few actresses where that softer/cutesy style doesn’t make me want to exit the screen 💀 I think she balanced it well here. ZLH was, as expected, magnetic, though I do agree they didn’t fully do his character justice—we get flashes of how legendary he should feel, which almost makes it more frustrating that they didn’t lean into it more. DK really surprised me too, but I had a bit of faith in him since Butterflied Lover—similar vibe there, just more fleshed out here.
In terms of the story, I think I went in with slightly different expectations. Given the title and framing, I assumed the narrative would center more heavily on the FL’s journey(the whole “jade” focus and part of her name literally means jade kind of gave it away), so that aspect didn’t throw me off as much. That said, I do agree that Fated Hearts handled the “equal partners” dynamic in a more consistently satisfying way.
At the end of the day, I also tend not to view these political or military setups through a strictly realistic lens—they’re often more about emotional stakes and character journeys than accuracy. But I completely get why that balance might not work for everyone. I suppose the final arc will be quite telling—it has the potential to either bring everything together cohesively or leave a more divided impression.
I have this feeling and I may be in the minority but so far first arc is the strongest, military arc just pissed…
It does make sense—I mainly watch dramas for the romance, so in that regard I really love this one. That said, I can definitely see its flaws. When the leak happened, I even went and wrote a review to show my support, but looking back… yeah, I might have gone a bit overboard and overpraised it 😅
I really wish MDL allowed quarter ratings—I’d probably give it a 9.75. I still love it a lot, but I’m not sure I can fully commit to a 10… I’m conflicted 😭 Maybe the last episodes will change my mind.
With all my love for the POJ team, I have to say—if (and that’s a big if) we’re getting express tomorrow, and episode 35 is already scheduled anyway… then express would only cover the last four episodes?? That feels a little greedy, considering the emotional damage we’ve been put through since this started airing, bro 😭
Yes, for a marquis of a different surname—a powerful warlord and ruler with immense influence and a loyal army…
Thanks for adding more info 🙌 Given that it's in the context of an episode that many people didn't watch yet, and maybe prefer not to read it I'll leave it as a spoiler regardless.

Haha ageed, loved her head crown so so much, been waiting for that scene ever since I've seen it in the trailer. Lol, fair I guess, but I kinda like that she had all the spotlight, just as the ML will when he will march in the capital 😍
Please make me understand when she came with such fanfare why the marquis did not come in her parade or the palace…
In my understanding from watching historicals - because he is a general and generals need an imperial edict to enter the capital. Since he did not receive it yet, he could only sneak in just to see her. Once he will receive the edict to enter the capital, he will enter with the same flare 🤩
Genuinely asking, what do you guys like abt this drama other than the cinematography? The plot feels all over…
I think that’s a fair question, honestly. For me, it’s not just the cinematography—although that definitely elevates the experience—but also the overall vibe of the story, the characters, and the performances.
The plot itself might not be something entirely new, but I don’t necessarily see that as a drawback. A lot of people (myself included) watch dramas like this for those familiar elements, especially when they’re executed in an engaging way. The romance, the character dynamics, and the cast’s chemistry really carry it and make it enjoyable.
I’d also say it comes down to personal preference. What might feel messy or underwhelming to one person can feel immersive and satisfying to someone else. For me, this drama delivers on what I was hoping to get out of it, even if it’s not perfect. I do admit the second half is a bit weaker than the first, but overall I still find it a solid and entertaining idol drama. 💜✨
I’ve blocked more account in the last couple of days than in the past few months.
Same, I blocked a couple of trolls earlier and had a peaceful experience, but now I'm just getting annoyed ahahaha, better keep some distance from this negativity cause its stressing me out
