Yes, I've had this director on my radar back in his short dramas days, and it really stands out the way he does these dramas and knows how to keep the audience invested 😁

Tbh I don’t mind if they haven’t read the novel 😅 as long as they do justice to the character and actually feel like the role. With adaptations changing so much, a good performance matters more to me than how they prepared for it.
The MDL ranking seems to have peaked at #14 and has now slipped back to #16 right as the leaks happened. I wonder…
I think it's a combination of both since I have seen a lot of viewers feeling like the drama dipped a bit in the second half, pacing and editing started to be disconnected, some things don't make sense etc

I completely understand where you’re coming from—those recycled tropes can feel especially frustrating when the original material already offers so much depth and nuance 😅
At the same time, I think expecting a fully faithful, page-to-screen adaptation might inevitably lead to some disappointment. The shift from novel to drama comes with its own constraints—runtime, pacing, production choices—so a degree of reinterpretation is almost unavoidable.
That being said, I do feel this team made a genuine effort to honor the essence of the source material. Even with the changes, there’s a clear sense of respect for the original story ✨
I also kind of wish we, as viewers, could hold space for the positives alongside the critiques. It’s completely valid to feel frustrated—everyone connects with stories differently—but when the conversation leans only into what’s lacking, it can eclipse what the drama actually did well. So while it may not be a perfect adaptation, it does stand out as a more considered and sincere one—and that, in itself, is worth appreciating 🙌
Lol someone should just make a discussion and post what happened with the leaked eps blunder so poor viewers who just discover this would be referred there
I honestly thought they will release all eps today as damage control but nooooo, we get to continue the 1 ep a…
Yeah honestly I'm relatively new in the cdramaland, around 5 years or so, but it's my first time seeing such a thing happen and it sucks major ass, hope it's just a bump in the road for our crew ( i know it's too much of a positive outlook, but I can't help it, otherwise I'll loose my marbles)
I think people should stop continously complaining about rushing in the ending.... The story is very huge... Obviously…
I agree tbh 😅 I’ve read the novel too, and this happens with pretty much every adaptation. It does feel a bit compressed at times, but I’m still enjoying it a lot. The key moments are there, and overall I think they handled it well 🎬
I totally get why novel readers want a super faithful version, but that almost never happens—and that’s okay. It’s just a different way of experiencing the story ✨
I have read the novel back when this was first announced and I liked it a lot. The ML is extra unhinged in the novel, and while he is the one who tries to cut ties with her, he just can't stay away, it's delicious and satisfying the way he is chasing her after this so I can't be mad lol. Bro is constantly in the ''wanting to eat the FL'' mode 🤣🤣🤣 They did soften the ML a lot in the drama, which I'm enjoying as well. I like both the book version and the drama version of this story so in my POV I got a double treat ahahaha
