I agree with this a lot, even though Luke still pisses me off to no end every now and then. 😂 Recognising his red flags and unhealthy behaviour doesn't mean I think he's incapable of growth, and I think that's precisely what makes him an interesting character to watch.
And Flora is definitely not without flaws either. She makes assumptions, gives mixed signals, pushes him away and can be frustrating as hell too. 😭 But I think that's precisely why their dynamic feels so human to me—neither of them arrives in this relationship as a perfectly emotionally healthy person who knows exactly what to do.
I don't need either of them to be perfect. What matters to me is whether they can recognise their own flaws and actually grow from them. And honestly, that messiness and gradual growth is what makes their relationship much more compelling than a perfectly packaged romance.
Now they just both need to stop testing my patience every other episode. Kidding, I'm all in for the chaos😭😂

YES, exactly this. 😭 I think this is what gets lost when people focus only on his actions and how much he does for her. Taking care of someone, protecting them, buying them things etc. can absolutely show that you care, but words matter too. You can’t repeatedly talk down to someone, call them cheap or obedient, criticise their intelligence, and then expect all the nice things you do to cancel that out.
And honestly, I’m still flabbergasted by how many people don’t see Luke as a red flag. 😭 I can understand his character, his childhood and why he behaves the way he does, but understanding isn’t the same as excusing it. Some words really do stay with you, especially when they come from someone whose opinion matters to you.
And the funniest part is that I’m actually LOVING this drama and will probably rate it highly. 😂 I’m sitting here fully entertained, rooting for the romance, and staring at Jing Boran like I’ve temporarily misplaced my common sense, while simultaneously writing a dissertation in my head about why his character is a red flag. 😭
