it's both, fans and agencies. competition in cent is insane because of that. agencies actively pay for marketing, hot search, boosting fake data (we call this water soldiers) etc and they absolutely can also pay these bloggers/marketing accounts to ruin their rivals....

It's best not to believe any melons spreading about him on the internet, especially those translated on twt. most of them are translated from those paid marketing accounts from wb. most are misinformation or exaggerated/distorted to ruin his character.

Heard of the word 'explosion prevention"? in china, it means to prevent someone/something from becoming the massive popular. It is currently happening to him i believe (it happened with HL too). I believe some people fear his potentials to hit big, that's why they're working overtime to ruin him as much as they can. They wouldn't care about someone if they don't feel threatened.

It's actually quite normal for 1st billing to get all the benefits. That's why I don't blame him for those billing controversies, or for rejecting DB's drama. Because it will be waste of time for him, no real benefits, just headache and stress from her fanbase lol.
If i can choose which traffic actress i want to work with him (for traffic reason), i would pick Yang Zi over others. Her MLs including 2nd/3rd MLs shoot to traffic after acting with her (fate is truly a strange thing lol). She also has many drama fans, her success rate is high and her acting is also decent.
That's why TGH is also worth looking forward to even if CZY is 3rd billing there...

I know he is popular in international scene, but in China, not only he has a useless agency, there's 'explosion prevention' going on and a lot of black/anti fans that have been harassing and damaging his reputation. He's not well-known in the drama scene (because he mostly acts in low budget modern idol dramas in recent years which don't have much audience). So haters have been taking advantages of that and paint him as a someone with bad acting and is ugly.
You are correct about him not being promoted right, he needs to be exposed more so people can have their own judgement about him, not just believing in haters' words.

I hope Lusi fans don't kill me for this but I think HL was her best acting drama (especially the romantic scenes with CZY)👀. But i still thank her because i came to HL because of her. Thanks to her i discovered the gem that is CZY 😆

i have different opinions with you on this. i don't think i care about reservation anymore. I care about its real success/viewerships once it airs more. (and the wb followers he gets during the airing period). we all know his traffic isn't much now anyway.

oh same as me. HL was all about his acting for me too, the plot is too simple but DJX portrayed by him fascinated me so much. I even suspect HL's replay value is high because of CZY's micro-expressions lol

BTW, DNAD is more a CCTV production more than a iqiyi work, that's why it wasn't promoted in iqiyi press con. so don't give credits to iqiyi for it.

lol he's not d-list in traffic (in acting he is the worst in the same age range imo lol). his traffic is still better than CZY thanks to those roles

I'm very positive about DNAD, the logic of this script should be better than TWOT even because the screenwriter is the same as war of faith. all the supporting actors are excellent as well.

S is enough for me. i don't ask for much, just need a good script and good characters designs. HL is so low budget but DJX is a godly design of a character.

J.Zheng got similar traffic but the cast has other traffic star Zhang Song Wen who got massive hit, most popular, explosive and award-winning drama last year (he is also CZY's acting mentor) so getting 1M reservation is actually low for that drama.

his acting was still criticized in all of those. if other actors (or CZY) got those good roles, they would have ascended to traffic long ago, but he couldn't, he even got overshadowed by 2nd ml in those dramas. lucky for him in TPR the 2nd ml is worse than him lol
