If you're talking about the Tencent drama with DB, yes, it's true that he was the first choice for the male lead, his C-fans even prepared a project for him for ceremony but he rejected the role. So no it wasn't just a rumor, it's true.
When i and some fans were discussing not believing in any Tencent melons, we were talking about other dramas, not this.

But the order of events are different from what you're lead to believe.
1. He didn't reject the role because he pushed for 1st billing. he already accepted to be 2nd anyway.
2. It's DB fandom that boycotted him first and made the excuse that they're afraid he will steal the 1st billing from DB (it didn't happen). They also criticized his young look and body shamed him, bullied him on the drama, his agency and his own weibo.
3. That's why he might think role is not worth it anymore and reject it in the end. (which i agree and supporting him avoiding all the FLs with poor acting skills and problematic fandoms to save himself from all the headache and stress)
4. His agency is always quiet for everything, they never sue his anti fans and never denied any bad rumors. it doesn't mean all the bad rumors about him is true. let's be clear.

my god i don't know how i have to explain why he - a ML should be recognized equally as the FL in a drama about the life of his character please... this billing order is so ridiculous and has to be abolished for healthier and fairer c-industry. do you see anywhere except china has this issue??? 😭😭😭

I don't want to speculate their relationship tbh because i think the fans purposely cut her out of the frame most the time because we only focus on CZY. and they probably didn't release everything they recorded because it would be leaking the drama content. People think he had bad relationship with ZLS before HL was aired too fyi and we know how fake it turned out to be. ZLS is also very easy going and younger than him so both of them can be playful together. But not every actress can be like that you know, so i understand if they don't have much playful moments together.

I'm just upset about some of her fans today but hardly unexpected because this is not the first time he was being disrespected after those controversies. But this makes me root for him more and only him...

btw, the second controversy is fake, made up by D fans and Tencent's marketing accounts because they're mad he rejected the role after being bullied by D's fandom. Don't believe in everything being said about him on the internet please.

I don't deny the incompetence of his useless agency. They should have handled it better for sure.
But I think the billing orders were decided by the filming crew/the producers. JJY only has big traffic, she is not regarded highly as an actress or has many drama fans (Her acting is bad and didn't show any respect for this acting career, i can discuss more about this but i fear some saints will appear and scold me again lol). The billing orders aren't decided based off traffic alone. Moreover, SF4 revolves around the ML's life events, the game is literally about how he finds his father. If you has watched the drama or even seen his reuters, the amount of effort he put into playing this role was insane, far surpassed any other actors and actresses in this crew. He got into injuries one after another, he acted without real equipments. So to me it is understandable that they give him at least the equal billing in return all of that effort, because you know 2nd billing can't claim the achievements of the drama because they think the one who carries the drama is the 1st billing. You think it's reasonable JJY can claim all the credits without breaking a sweat? big fat no. I'm actually glad he asked for equal recognition, we love a man who knows his worth and has self-respect.

Also her fandom, instead of attacking the production team, they went full on hate campaign against her co-actor who is probably the most powerless in all of this, making him the enemy of the internet and ruined his reputation and all his hard work and effort throughout 8 years just by the word "iQiyi Prince" that is not even true.
CZY has never had a billing issue with any of his co-star in the past but now he has to bear that 'stealing role' title just because someone else is so obsessed with it to the point of hurting everyone in the process. (she's not even downgraded to 2nd billing!!! because it's equal: both are 1st!!) so you tell me who's the greedy one here???

you're new so you must have not known the full story. the actual situation was they signed the contract at a different time with different producers. The original producer signed the contract with JJY first but it was a script that no one wanted to pick up so the producer ran away and they had to change to someone else. This new producer is the one who signed the contract with CZY. The role was "offered" to him (more like thrown to him and he had no way to refuse it since it's Iqiyi, the drama that he was was talking about on RT that he was in pain to act and watch when it's broadcast was probably SF4). Because it was forced upon him so ofc they would offer him the equal billing to compensate him for that, and they probably didn't let him or his agency know about this JJY 1st billing contract until the controversy broke out.

Her company is also to blame because why they chose right before the drama broadcast to go public with it? they could have waited until it finishes airing to not let the controversy affect other actors and the whole crew, but no, her obsessed-with-1st-billing agency can't wait to ruin the reputation of others and whole drama crew because they were about to cut ties with iqiyi and ran away to youku, so they don't care about the damage they would have caused.
