Ever Night is my favorite drama (Season 1 only) and there are a whole lot of heroes I love. EN has some downsides, but the overall impression is excellent.
DC is ... different. It is warm, sweet, sometimes boring, even bland. There is no pace like EN and the hero is completely different. DC is, in my opinion, a warm and light fairy tale for a Sunday afternoon, an educational story for good children, when EN is a drama with a claw. Completely different styles.
I love Ning Que, Tang San is so-so, but these are my personal likes. However, if I were to compare the quality of acting, costumes and the overall performance, I think that both dramas are excellent, differing only in aesthetics and style. But the fight scenes and special effects are definitely (in my opinion, of course) better in Ever Night. Fighting in the desert and then a scene in the rain is an absolute championship, and there have been no more beautiful and emotional fight scenes in any drama, or even in a dozen action movies. So fans of stronger action may be disappointed by DC, because it is polite, nice drama, where there are no scenes where "wood is cut" :)

There are two reasons because it depends who you ask.
XZ is a very beloved actor and human being, but he is just as much hated.
