A Comfy Retreat
Love and Revolution, the show Chosen Home is a comfortable feel good drama BL drama more borderline on Queer drama that portray a more realistic queer relationship in Japan. This show will not be for everyone. A few things that might turn you off might be the eccentric characters, the lack of intimacy (no kiss scene), the disney-esque resolution to the story and the fast pacing.
However, this show to me has many other good qualities that makes it shine. My most favourite aspect is the way it talks and explores about being queer in Japan in a more realistic light. Such as the partner program a pseudo way to get married or the increasing lgbtq friendly areas in Japan. A particular moment I loved was the finale when the workshop son visits Hatano and Saku to thank them for existing and overcoming his internal homophobia. That scene reminded me of Monster (2023) a bit.
Overall, if you enjoy found family, slow burn stories then give it a shot
