Most chinese drama sucks. I only watch costume drama because they spend so much money in SET and COSTUME , they have to do decent job with story and actor and fight choreography. I avoid most chinese drama like plaugue. Modern Dramas , actor and actress dont act that well. whole setup is noobish and sucks basically.

Once in a while good director direct good drama. There are exception to every rule.

I like ever night season1 , joy of life season 1, sword stride etc.

One more wuxia type chinese drama where Lead girl where kaped in first few episode . Can you believe that. The director did that kinda drama. Lead actress is beautiful but she disappeared after that. I try to search it search it to tell the name of drama i cant find it. That was first time i realized china has weird people like japanese. That was shocker. Why do that in Wuxia?
