I agree with everything you said. CXZ's lies in the drama are very deliberate compared to the novel. But still, he has his legitimate reasons. I'm curious how the drama will handle CXZ's identity reveal and break up. In the novel, CXZ's gaslighting was on another level. It was almost upsetting to read. But he made up for it for it later. lol

They got married and had a son. lol

You're welcome. CXZ and Lu Wen's chemistry is sizzling hot in the novel. They had two real physical fights. lol I hope the drama doesn't cut too much due to censorship.

In episode 11, CXZ confesses to LMT that he had come to respect Lu Wen as a formidable foe, lamenting the anticlimactic end to their deadly cat and mouse games. The twist is that LMT is Lu Wen. Unbeknownst to him, CXZ had already admired LMT long before encountering her in her diminished, memory-lost state. And the feeling was mutual; their initial love language was, quite literally, attempting to murder each other. So, when CXZ eventually discovers that LMT and Lu Wen are one and the same, his addiction with her only deepens.

I've read the novel. The drama sheds some light on something interesting about CXZ's character that I never fully digested. Heavy spoilers below

She becomes Lu Wen in chapter 161.

Like I said, he's not a saint. He thought he was dealing with an enemy. So he acted accordingly. Was he wrong? Maybe. But from his perspective, he did the right thing. However, reducing his actions toward her to selfishness is an oversimplification because humans and their relationships with each other are complicated.

So many drama watchers do this. And it's kind of annoying. Also, they seem to gloss over the fact that the ML is tyring to do right by her but he's conflicted due to his position and growing feelings for her.

What I'm saying is that initially, he had every right to see her as an enemy. But clearly, things have evolved. CXZ obviously regrets how he's treated LMT and has been trying to make amends, though his feelings for her are making things complicated. Yes, there’s some selfishness involved, but there's also kindness, growing affection, and a lot of confusion. To reduce it all to selfishness is an oversimplification.

He has fallen for her but he's also very conflicted about his feelings. I agree he owes her the truth. But it's always easy to speak the truth bluntly in these complicated matters.

It is justifiable in his world since he believed her to be his mortal enemy's woman. Again, I'm not saying he's a saint. But his decisions aren't made out of pure cruelty and malice.

I love their dynamic. But I love CXZ and Lu Wen's dynamic even more. There is this one scene that I pray to God they don't censor too much. lol

I hope they don't change this part. Although I hated the ML's consistent gaslighting and shamelessness after his lies were exposed, I appreciated the fact that he did not grovel. I'm afraid that the drama might change this part.
You forgot to add how he forbade LMT from getting married. lol

In CXZ's shameless and arrogant mind (lol), he had already claimed LMT as his woman. He always viewed their time apart as merely a brief separation and was convinced that LMT would eventually return to him. And he wasn't wrong—she was hooked on him as much as he was hooked on her. However, her pride and stubbornness allowed her to hide it better. The novel made it clear that LMT was secretly lusting after CXZ's good looks, hence why he was able to hop into her bed so easily after the the separation.

Fun fact: He's even colder in the novel. But the shred of humanity is still present. lol

I love his novel version more because we get to see this cold ruthless prince fall for someone he shouldn't have fallen for. lol

Well said. It's ok to not like him. But at least try to understand him. I feel like these people are only watching this from the FL's perspective, which is itself skewed because we don't know who she really is.
