i wanna see CXZ grovelling but IN FRONT OF HER. not stalking and sulking her behind the scenes. like mans someone…
He literally saved her life and nursed her back to health and tried his best to do the right things despite the lies. Yet you want to see the man grovel? You guys are weird. Thank god the novel version (the real version) of CXZ is not the weak dude.
Ironically, the novel version LMT/Lu Wen would absolute hate drama CXZ. Notice how the also drama skips over the…
Don't forget that in the novel, she finally agrees to marry him because he made her submit in bed. And she couldn't resist because she lusted after that man. In return, even when CXZ finds out she is Lu Wen, he is so whipped for her, that he goes out to buy her street food during her revelation. lol The Drama destroyed an interesting and hot love story so they could have their badass FL revenge storyline.
Ziyu tried to get her back. But CXZ had already married her and he was a lot more ruthless and powerful in the novel. So Ziyu never stood a chance despite his position.
I hate seeing the words male wife and simp so much because I see it everywhere these days. Why do we want all…
Ironically, the novel version LMT/Lu Wen would absolute hate drama CXZ. Notice how the also drama skips over the fact that LMT was herself infatuated with CXZ's good looks? The drama is a total bastardization of a truly wonderful novel.
Based on what you shared, this drama has changed bothe FL and ML’s characterization…Can I ask in the novel,…
I have feeling that they were going that route base on how soft they made the ML in the drama. In the drama, the ML does fall in love deeply. But, he never resorted to following the FL around like a lost puppy after their break up. He had his military duties to attend to. But he did send his men to spy on her to prevent her from getting married. lol
In the novel, Ziyu was NEVER presented as a serious love rival to CXZ. FL didn't remember him for most of the novel and when she did remember him, she never went back to him. But in typical Cdrama fashion, seems like that's going to change. I hope I'm wrong.
It is not actually necessary. Going the original route had the exact same effect. What they need is distance and…
" I will never understand how cdrama writers ruin great novels by adding stupid cliches that are unnecessary. "
One reason is that these adaptations are often handled by mediocre people who lack the skill to adapt a story without filling it clichés. They struggle to bring fresh perspectives to the material. Another reason is that many directors are eager to showcase their artistic vision, and in doing so, they'll ruin original work, believing they are enhancing it.

She loved him. But the novel was vague about how deep the love was. The novel doesn't spend any time on recapping their relationship. At the end, when she regained her memories, she chose to stay with the ML instead of reconnecting with Ziyu. It seems like the drama is changing that.

You should see the preview for ep. 24. LMT reconnects with Ziyu (because of course the drama would do that) then CXZ is following them around looking like a child who had his toy stolen from him. I hate how these dramas dilute some of these male characters and add unnecessary plot points for the sake of drama. They've ruined this wonderful dynamic with cliches.
The drama is essentially telling an entirely different story from the novel. I guess they feel the only way to give LMT some agency and make this drama more exciting is to take LMT down the path of vengeance, have her reconnect with her ex, and have the ML follow her around like a simp.

100% This adaptation is so disappointing. The writers feel like unless LMT becomes a revengeful, blood thirsty, cold, and manipulative woman, she would have no agency. Watch them turn CXZ into a complete simp.
I think it has a lot to do with ML being pure? It's easier to suppress his urges versus someone who isn't.
In the novel, he's also a virgin, but he didn’t stand a chance against LMT’s beauty and the aphrodisiac wine she made for him. Lol. Him finally giving in is the more realistic (although unethical) outcome.
It's funny how a lot of people are know feeling bad for CXZ🤣....I thought we wanted this guy to pay for lying…
It’s hilarious. But I think they were thinking more along the lines of making him grovel, cry, or messing with food. But they were not thinking about Lu Wen’s brand of revenge. That’s scary. I doubt the drama will take LMT’s character down that path. It would make her the villain.
She doesn't NEED to get revenge against CXZ since he's not the bad guy here. He saved her life, while others left…
She will probably have a strong emotional reaction in the moment and stab him. But I won’t consider that as her taking revenge. A proper revenge story is premeditated. I doubt the drama would take LMT’s character down that path.
