He wanted to stay with her. But she was so hurt by his deception and gaslighting she left him and returned home. CXZ couldn't chase after her immediately because he was in the middle of a war campaign.

In the novel their break up lasted 18 chapters.

She only regains ALL of her memories at the very end. But she does remember her past as a bandit while forgetting her current identity and love (yes double amnesia lol) during the climax.

Ziyu chose power over LMT. CXZ did the opposite.

It is a HE. But there will be a major break up.

The guy LMT was supposed to marry does exist. But he's a non-factor in the story. LMT was never married to anyone and was still a virgin when she was rescued by CXZ.

Then the Prince's addiction will start. 😂

Nope. She's actually a pure girl. CXZ is about to find out. ;)

It's a misunderstanding. He didn't try to kill her. Someone else did. He purposely drove her away for reasons that will be revealed later.

CXZ isn't just a shameless liar, he's also very petty. He didn't have to rub it in Ziyu's face like this. 😂
I felt they softened his character a bit too much compared to the novel, but this version of CXZ is starting to grow on me. I can't wait to see CXZ's lies catch up with him. Poor Miantang, she is the perfect wife yet she's being manipulated.

He's even colder in the novel. But, this interpretation of his character is growing on me.

This is my favorite part of the novel. They're both so whipped for each other. Wait until you read how he got her to marry him. lol

When I first read it, I was furious with him. He essentially claimed that he never pretended to be her husband, which is technically true (the drama changed that), and said that she was the one who aroused him to the point of sleeping with her, which is also true. It was pretty frustrating to read at firstl but the gaslighting was insane. lol

But then the dude got pretty much whipped (to be fair, they both did). He would overthrow the king himself to keep his woman. I wished the drama portrayed that version of CXZ instead of this goofball i'm seeing.

I hope they stay true to his character from the novel. CXZX didn't win LMT back by groveling. He's no cuck. I don't think LMT would respect that kind of a man. CXZ won her back by being bold and crazy and sexing her. Fun fact: she agreed to marry him for real under the influence of penis. lol

Correction: She's never been married before.

They've already watered down her character by not mentioning how ruthless she was with the creep's henchmen and by having CXZ show up to save the day during her meeting with the artist. I hope they don't exaggerate too much. Regarding CXZ, I understand why they made him goofier. They don't want the audience to hate him too much. I think that decision will undercut his character progression a bit.
