What a ridiculous way for the ML to discover who she was, a completely random scene. That's what this drama has the most of: random scenes that are boring and unimportant.
The noodles scene gave trolls a chance to showcase their talent in making a fuss out of small matters, and I say…
The screenwriter could have included in the synopsis, 'the female protagonist X, and the art of cooking,' so that people like you, who find a story like that more interesting than one about revenge, would watch it — and save everyone else’s time.
I agree with you, and most Cdramas have this same problem. This one, surprisingly, is a bit better. I've seen…
I don't remember if I read your comment or someone else's, but the blame for these bland stories lacking substance lies with government censorship. I doubt a story like Korea's Weak Hero would ever see the light of day in China.
So it is impossible for most scriptwriters to amend misoginic traits. Why not let the FL do what she is the best…
I agree with you, and most Cdramas have this same problem. This one, surprisingly, is a bit better. I've seen one where the woman loses her memory and forgets she knows martial arts just so the man can keep saving her all the time. Or sometimes they make the female lead blind, so the man has to save her too. But I think this also has to do with the dictatorial Chinese government. I read a comment yesterday from someone saying that they decided to censor that plot where a character dies and comes back to life in another person's body. I think it might be true because in this story, at the beginning, she apparently dies because it's impossible to survive falling off a cliff but there was no storyline where she comes back in another body. I don’t know why the government decided to censor that. Gay storylines have already been censored for quite a while. If you pay attention, none of these C-dramas have dark themes, people getting beaten up, or blood. It's always a bunch of pointless dialogue, women knitting or cooking, creating drama among themselves, when what we actually want is action and a woman saving the man for a change.
they did a whole rebirth with Blossom and that was a great drama I thought!
I didn't watch all of The Untamed, but in the novel Mo Dao Zu Shi, the main character dies and then comes back to life (I don't remember the Chinese term, just the Western one).
