I'd like to emphasize that this comment is only my personal opinion... I must admit that I'm extremely disappointed with episode 2. I'm not interested in the story of North and Yu at all, and unfortunately, it took up 80% of the episode. I don't like this type of acting, even though I know this series is a comedy. I don't like these two actors as a couple because I think they're completely incompatible. I was fascinated by Pai and Tim... The beginning, meaning episode 1, was very promising, so I expected a steamy comedy romance (I don't mean the NC scenes) with a lot of romance and everything that goes with it. The actors are so beautiful, they complement each other so well, the producers of this series should simply use it better. I'm waiting for episode 3 but if it has the same feeling as episode 2, I'll leave this series disappointed.
This series has more or less the same quality as "Bad Guy my Boss", i.e. none..... First of all, the concept of a younger brother taking care of his immature older brother like a child is strange, to say the least...
Secondly, I wouldn't want a guy who lets himself be pushed around and has no self-respect. Jimmy has tested it several times that he can do whatever he wants, and PThoe, like a good dog, will still come back to him and apologize...
This show is strange and a bit annoying... Besides, I was surprised to see James and Kad back together; I thought that ship had died after the last series.
I've only seen the first episode, and it's hard to say what awaits me yet. However, my first impression is very positive about Pai and Tim, but less so about Yo and North. I was happy to finally get a grown-up BL story told by adult actors. They're both very beautiful and perfectly suited to each other, and their relationship is mature and has a future. As for North and Yu, I'm saturated with comedic and "school" dramas, so I felt a bit bored. I don't really like this type of acting, and in my opinion, this couple doesn't fit together at all. But as I wrote above, this is just the beginning...
I just finished watching it, so I'm commenting live. LOL As a fan of Chinese cinema in general (not just BL), I was delighted with the precision, graphics, and atmosphere of this series. The main cast is excellent, and you feel like they're very close. For Chinese cinema, it's a very bold series, with a very bold theme, and it's really well-executed. Enigma's smoking hands are my number one element!!!! I've never been interested in stories like Alpha, Omega, Bata, and Enigma, and I had to immerse myself in this atmosphere, and the way it was filmed and staged really resonated with me. However, the pregnant guy and his morning sickness just made me laugh....sorry, I'm not in any way a prude or homophobe or anything like that, but I couldn't shut off my reality and completely surrender to my fantasy...it was just a side note. I'm a huge fan of Elliot and Kipuka and I hope we'll see them together in future series, as successful as this one!
If this were any other Chinese couple from the BL series, I would think that maybe they were advertising some jewelry or something, but since THIS IS THE COUPLE that is the first Chinese BL ship, I think that this post has more meaning than some people think and try to take away its meaning.
I've been a BL fan for years and I realize that China is not Thailand and homosexual relationships are practically unacceptable, but I still don't think this post was made for money. That's all.
This series is definitely not an Oscar-winning masterpiece, but since it's not an academic or school-uniform-wearing series, I simply enjoy watching it. I like the actors, especially the younger one, who is sweet and likeable... they're generally a great match, and their delicate chemistry captivates me. You don't have to force everything on your partner by persistently questioning them; you can give them time to make their own decisions about what's going on at work... I like how they give each other space, time, and support.
Besides, everything is so beautiful and fragrant, the actors are so handsome, the cosmetics are beautifully designed, and the whole skincare storyline is something else entirely, and I'm just waiting for the plot to develop further.
PS. I won't be surprised at all if, at the end of the series, it turns out that Mrs. Emma Lauren is Tom's mother. LOL
I have to admit that both men are very handsome, especially Watarau. He's just so sweet, but... well, yes, but... The series started out great, sweet and likable, but in the second episode it seemed to lose its edge and seemed momentarily boring to me. It's not that there weren't any romantic scenes or anything, but that the photo ops and dialogue were too long. I don't know, I'm a bit disappointed with the second episode because it simply bored me.
I don't know, but after the third episode, I just gave up. I found it boring (perhaps because I watched the original Japanese version), and maybe because I don't think the main couple was the best match, or maybe because this series isn't my cup of tea... I don't know. In short, the series simply bored me.
Okay, to sum up the series as a whole, I have to say I liked it. After the first two episodes, I was skeptical, but as the story progressed, I began to change my attitude and overall opinion. What I liked most was that Pond, in my opinion, really showed off a slightly different side of himself as an actor, one that really suits him. He was truly excellent, and he built the comic element of the character very pleasantly. It was something completely different, a different story from him, and Pond showed us that he can really develop as an actor. Bravo!
As for Phuwin, I admit he's getting more and more handsome, but his acting, at least in terms of BL, seems to have stagnated or even taken a few steps back. The character he played was likeable, but he didn't have any special characteristics and was no different from the character PH played in We Are. I think PP has become a "light" BL couple who could just as easily have created a bromance, because in my eyes, they're constantly on the border between BL and bromance. That's fine! Maybe it would even be better, because their NC scenes aren't NC, and the awkward kisses are always hidden by elbows, shoulders, etc., so they could be completely omitted, and based on their chemistry, it would still be interesting. The cherry on the cake, in my opinion, was WilliamEst's performance. This couple has such strong chemistry that they don't need much interaction, and the electricity between them sparks automatically. This also applies to the SantaPerth couple. Both couples added the missing spices in this series—a little chili, a little pepper, which resulted in a very tasty and spicy dish.
The series seemed really interesting, but somewhere halfway through, it lost its momentum and stalled, revolving around a single topic without moving forward. It's a shame. As for the main couple (Sea/Keen) : I love them, I loved Only Bo, they're great... but I don't feel any BL chemistry at all. I see them as soulmates/best friends, and this romantic subplot between them doesn't work for me at all because they have no romantic chemistry. They're like best friends, and that's why watching their attempts at intimacy is strange to me. Sorry.
Canadians? Since when there are Canadians series ?
Insane because what? Is it such an outrageous thing to want actors to give their all and truly step into their role to be convincing and good? So I'm not comparing them on any basis of "heat/spicy" but purely the way the actors engaged with their roles and each other. And in this, Pond was trying his best, but Phuwin clearly did not, in my opinion.
It started off really interesting, comedic and dramatic, and it seemed like it would stay that way throughout the episodes. The penultimate episode already felt different compared to the first three, but today's episode is a completely different story. Why? Why did it suddenly become sweet and naive, like in a Sleeping Beauty fairy tale? Why? Besides, intimate scenes aren't PondPhuwin's strong suit. I don't know, but I don't feel it at all. I always feel like Phuwin suddenly transforms from a TV character into the real Phuwin, who simply doesn't like/can't kiss or act out erotic scenes. In this episode, their final scenes in bed practically demanded something "hot," instead we get constant lukewarm, passionless fake kisses. This is, of course, just my opinion, but after watching several excellent Chinese, Japanese, and Canadian series, everything about this series seems so bland and naive to me. Sorry.
I actually think they way Phuwin kisses is reactionary to the way Pond kisses. Pond has very full lips, and he…
If it takes you a thousand words to explain that what I see isn't what I think it is, then I'm right. In short: Phuwin gives the impression of someone who not only doesn't like kissing Pond (to get over it, Phuwin feeds Pond mint candies) but also doesn't like being close to him, which the series perfectly illustrates. Thee is a man in love who really wants to be close to Peach, to touch him, kiss him, etc., but Peach only looks for excuses to spend the night in his apartment away from him. Instead of a kiss goodbye, he pats Thee on the head, etc. But at the same time, we know that Peach actually looks after all his friends and gives the impression that being close to them is no problem. However, I saw a "straight" series starring Phuwin, where not only did he play his role better but he also had no problem kissing a girl without having to cover the kiss with his arm or without pulling a face, etc. Let's be honest; PP looks great, and that's why their series are so popular, but everything about BL in their performance, especially Phuwin's, is embarrassing and very uncomfortable to watch, which simply ruins the series. Now, hate me all you want, but it will only emphasize that I'm basically right. And Pond simply saves the day with his fleshy lips because he knows PH doesn't like kissing him.
Yes, I'd say they're Oscar-worthy roles! As for the casting, I think it was a deliberate choice, because Hao Yi Ran is an experienced actor with a considerable film career, while Yun Qi has no experience whatsoever, and this series is his very first role.
Such an experienced actor and a newcomer have a good chance of success, since the experienced actor can guide/prompt the inexperienced one, and so they work well together. In my opinion https://x.com/CdramaLover016/status/1991720971242533121
An interesting perspective, because for me, the choice of characters/actors seemed perfect. In my mind, You was a grown man, knowing who he was and what he wanted, and aged between 30 and 40. His "delicacy and femininity" further emphasized this. Both women and men fell in love with him. Fan Xiao, on the other hand, judging by his lack of romantic and sexual experience, was definitely younger but more powerful in business and financial resources, as well as athletic in stature, than You. Excellent choice of actors.
I just can’t into this show because I’m not really a fan of the appeal of the couple together it’s just…
Oh my God, even if he were 35, that's a wonderful age, and there's nothing stopping him from having a lover 10 years younger than him, because they're both adults. Besides, I don't think he's 35... And as for plastic surgery, it's practically a necessity in Asian countries. Even as a birthday present, at 16, your "parents" give you a nose job or breast augmentation. So, to be accepted or successful, you unfortunately have to conform to Asian standards of beauty... a sad but true reality. Incidentally, the same applies to Korean idols, for example; few are "naturally beautiful."
The ending was truly like hitting the jackpot or winning a million dollars in the lottery—simply perfect. I don't know if I need to add more, because the whole thing was about lies and intrigue, and the question was specific, and the answer was too. That scene advertising "chewing gum" ( LOL) was just the icing on the cake. Ultimately, the two fall madly in love, but the way Fan Xiao did it was unacceptable, but the guy simply didn't know any better. A truly beautiful and brilliantly made series. I love it and will definitely return to it.
P.S. After reading the comments on other posts and the resulting war, I'd like to point out (I don't know, but I have a feeling I'm the only one who noticed) that there was no mention of any sexual exploitation or abuse. You Shu Lang not only agreed to a sexual arrangement (from which he undoubtedly profited), but even transformed himself from TOP to BOTTOM for Fan Xiau... voluntarily!!!!!
I like the series, I really do, and Thee is so pleasantly in love... he's sweet, but I don't feel like Peach is in love with Thee at all. I don't understand this character's behavior at all, nor the fact that he's in a relationship with Thee yet simultaneously resists it and his closeness to him. I thought that at the beginning of a new romance the love is intense, full of a need for closeness, being together, and so on, but I don't feel at all with Peach.....
PS. looking at the mile long explanations and whatnot in the comments, I'm assuming I must've hit a nerve with my comment.
