The problem goes deep. They showed rape and then ignored it like it doesn't matter...because apparently, novel fans are used to rape culture so it isn't a big deal for them. They are shaming people who aren't used to rape culture in the dramas they watch and want the lead who has committed multiple violations of bodily autonomy in a cruel way to get punished..NOT ROMANTICISED. Since you said it, there is actually a straight drama about SA that got released this year...it The first frost. Its not my favorite work of the actors but the rapist's character was SPOT ON! They did such a good job with his portrayal and by showing how it affects the person who has experienced it.

This drama is so anti feminist /human rights in every way so I fully understand why it seems like an incel wrote it. One of the reasons I am so against it is because i understand what these female writers and audience are doing here. This actually has historical context.
Back in the days, when nothing was digital and porn was circulated through novels, a genre called "bodice rippers" was famous among women . Now, this was porn and it had all of these themes along with everything else and I don't personally judge porn. So, its okay.
However, some of the bodice rippers actually got sanitised by screenwriters and were presented as love stories. Bridgerton is one example of soft bodice rippers...it was very soft compared to hard core ones.
Not a single scene in Bridgerton was shot to glorify SA. Not a single one! Its not my fav show for multiple reasons but had they decided to show it, they would have shown the character as a irredeemable villain and that's something I appreciate about the drama writers and audience.
