I don't think you are a historian...I like fantasies but chinese history is pretty well written. Are you non asian? Because China has many matrilineal societies too and there's overwhelming evidence ...biological, historical as well as modern... to suggest what said. There's no evidence to suggest otherwise. Women used their brains as the PRIMARY WEAPON and not brute strength. A person like the FL with magical powers can look good in a fantasy drama but she's pretty unrealistic in real life. Since its a romance drama, its easy for me to ignore that
This drama is really her story so she gets the big kills. I did wish there is more balance buttttttt how many…
Frankly, in other dramas,ITS REALISTIC... that's just history. Here, its forced. The female leaders that China had were master strategists and not women with MORE STRENGTH THAN 10 GENERALS.
She probably thinks that she cannot use the Marquis army for the personal problems. I mean they are at the war…
That's okay...I got that part but the marquis has SHARED INTERESTS there and he had found out about it the night before. Why has she not even discussed it with him who can help her with intelligence at least...if not army. She acts like a bull sometimes...brute strength but minimum application of brain. Even he knows he can't reason with her so he secretly sends army to protect her. I agree with you though. That's her character. If its her character flaw, then I can accept it
For her to become a general like him, she needs to have some achievements under her belt. Girl wants to equally…
Its not about martial arts or her becoming a general. Its about execution of the traits the character has. Yes she is strong but the writer is FORCEFULLY separating her from the ML to feed the narrative that "she doesn't rely on him". Its become quite inorganic. Usually, female rulers and generals would make extensive strategies to defeat the enemy...she heads just anywhere without much of a plan/ alliance and survives many times...because of sheer luck.
The drama is heading towards the PERFORMATIVE STrONg InDePenDent WaMan trope that I absolutely hate as a woman. Why is she heading alone towards saving her? There's also many other instances where the writer has separated them for the sake of separating...Her way of giving the FL the limelight is very INORGANIC
Sometimes, certain writers WANT TO MAKE THE FL STRONG...but they do it at the cost of Logic, rationality and taking the shine away from other main characters WHICH HAS THE OPPOSITE EFFECT. It makes the audience believe that if the drama was completely realistic, the FL wouldn't be able to shine. That shouldn't happen with skilled writing
look up Till the End of the Moon...your jaw will hit the floor
I actually disliked that drama...despite its hype. There was surprisingly overacting there...and I loved the other modern drama that the actors did together
I watched MP90s first and enjoyed it very much, so my expectations were high for this. but it turned out to be…
"Love between equals" lol! A fantasy... there's no equals in the world. There's difference is class ans its the most prominent difference in the whole world that very much exists in the modern time. Also, they didn't marry for status and money. Thirdly, you are STILL...to this day...connected to the deeds of your family and people. This is very much the political ans social reality of the world we live in. Closing eyes doesn't eliminate the truth...of course, looking beyond that is a choice.
no, I was seriously wondering why I somewhat swooned by qi min's obsession. while his look might be the cause,…
Actually I liked the brother more....AS AN ACTOR. The way he created amazing chemistry with both the girls (FL and his girlfriend) is insane. Of course I don't mean romantic chemistry but the tension. I have seen the white haired guy's previous work and he's pretty good as well. I would like to see BOTH OF THEM IN MAIN ROLES.

You have seen how rebellious she is. She dressed up as a man to study and totally chased after her crush. Ain't your average princess who cares about propriety.
lol someone explain how qi shu is actually doing this!she came disguised as a medic & practiced random herbs…
She STUDIED MEDICINE. You see, she talked about all those herbs in great length but the soldiers laughed at her. That means, she has great knowledge of medicine but has only treated nobles before and she didn't know how to treat people when there is severe lack of resources. That's why she had to experiment. I hope that explains it for you
