My Honest Feedback
First and foremost, I've been anticipating this drama since the day they started filming. I only read a quarter part of the novel, and I know the storyline will be different compared to other Xianxia dramas. To be honest, it went beyond my expectations. They did a 360 change on the plot, but it works for me because when I read the novel, the more I read, the more I felt bored. But this drama makes me excited and wonder what will happen in the next episode. But of course, if someone is not used to Xianxia dramas, this might not be for them because this trope has a lot of deception, lies, and misunderstandings.
Episode 1 to 4 - Introduction phase, Plot will start at episode 5 and onwards.
However, I think I need to point out that the moral story of this drama is actually about two broken people who met each other. Both leads live in deception and lies because adults failed them. Obviously, their characters won’t be perfect and they made mistakes, but that’s the beauty of it. You learn about real love, learn about friendship, learn about the one who truly cares about you, and finally, to rely on each other. So, for those who interested with this drama, do be patient because time to time, you will be asking "why she does not want to do that? why he did that to her?" There will be character developments.
I really love Jibozai’s character because, for God’s sake, his character was written by a woman writer. He is the dream guy that we’ve ever wanted. Haha, I can’t do anything but be in love with Jibozai 😂
When it comes to casting, I know HMH won’t disappoint me, by far for me, this is his best performance. There’s something about his eyes. HMH is one of those actors who act with his eyes, and the director is aware of it!! That’s why, if you realize, they always do close shots that focus on his eyes. LYX, I know she is a good actress because I watched her acting in MJTY. I knew she wouldn’t disappoint me too, and every time she cried, I cried along with her. The rest of the characters, perfect casts!
CGI and graphics — Not to be overreacting, but by far, they’re the most beautiful for me. It reminds me of the Fang of Fortune vibe, but they have a lighter vibe than them. The way they shot most of the scenes, super aesthetic. It’s like I’m watching LITC in the cinema instead. i think you guys really need to watch this in HD. cause It’s that beautiful to me.
OST and soundtrack — at first, they tend to use the soundtrack a lot at the start, but it got lesser toward the end. I hope Youku will fix the sound problem at episode 36. I love all the OSTs of this drama, especially HMH’s song and the opening song.
Overall, this will be one of my go to dramas. From time to time, when I don’t have anything to watch, I will watch this again. so 100% highly recommend from me!
