Round of applause for the first few episodes! Intensity and cinematography were CHEFS KISS! First half was great, I cannot stress it enough but that is where the downfall lies. The storyline kind of slacked off, things were getting slow and mediocre, and our main characters were losing their spark- it was almost like a healthy, married couple.. where there is just no drama... which is ironic. Started off strong, mid was super slow, ending was great but felt rushed. No extremely hateful characters and unnecessary constant suffering, which I really appreciate. (giving Blossoms in Adversity) Many funny moments and characters, reasonable dialogues, makes it all worthwhile. First time watching this male lead and he is NOT bad at all, I've definitly been sleeping on him. But overall love it, but didn't reach my all time faves list.Was this review helpful to you?
So Real and Lovable
Wow. Just as I expected from a highly rated show, and especially just as I expected from my girl Tang Song Yun. Last time I fully watched her was in Whirlwind Girl which I loved her so much; and I loved her just as much if not more in this show.TBH I am not the biggest fan of love triangles, but I do love it when it is done right- when the main girl knows exactly who she wants- so its not really a full triangle.
But I LOVED the main fathers so muchhhh….Y’all… idk if this healed or made my daddy issues worse ? I loved every part of this. I was never bored. This highly deserves the high ratings. Excellent characters and character developments. Every character has their own flaws and imperfections, which never leaves you bored. This hits so close to home, from all the struggles to all the awkwardness to every misunderstanding…. which were all reasonable (I hate when misunderstandings can easily be prevented); even if it was a little dramatic, there was never a dull moment.
There was definitely an emphasis on the platonic relationships more than the main romance, but it was all done well, so I don't have a negative thing to say. I ugly cried a lot but laughed way more. I was rarely mad, maybe slightly annoyed at some characters but it was all fun to watch and worth it in the end. 10/10- story; 9.5/10- romance

WOW.
I don't think I need to say anything. It's an All-time favorite! Would recommend to everyone who loves feeling a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the series. There is a mix of comedy, heartbreak, tragedy, and 2 kinds of love. A creepy, one-sided love and a truely magical love. This show is super long, so you should expect some boring parts BUT OVERALL great great drama ❤️ I love the character dynamics even tho some of them makes me want to pull my hair out but that is part of the joy of watching this! Again, I am writing this yearsss later. All I rememer was that I LOVED Whirlwind Girl 1 so my expectations was crushed, but I still gave a benefit of the doubt even after the main actress change. One hope I held on to was Yang Yang coming back. But he didn't. I felt like I wasted my time. Mind you, I still fell in love with Ji Chang Wook, even tho his dubbing was AWFUL LMAO. (I think moved on to see some of his korean dramas). I would have totally skipped this one and suffer the cliff hanger from the first season.Was this review helpful to you?

9.8/10 SLAY THE MF HOUSE DOWN 😩🥵Dont know how this MASTERPIECE completely slipped out of 2023 for me. I blame it on The Starry Love for making me go into a show slump because of that ending LOL.
BUT this was the first show that I watched in a while that HIT me like Ashes of Love did. (AOL is still my top tho). LOVED LOVED. Phenomenal storyline and acting, sooooo CHEFS KISS. Loved Bai Lu, loved Wang Xing Yue, Loved my baby Yan Lin (who deserves the world) LOVED Zhang Ling He. CANT wait for his upcoming shows.

Haven’t watched a Jackie Chan movie in such a long time, I’m devastated how old he’s getting. I will forever appreciate how much he is still willing to exhaust his body to do what he loves.Good cop movie, made me frustrated at times how surprisingly powerful the criminal is but overall good ending 4.1/5 ⭐️

I watched it as a kid and still rewatch it once in a while if I'm feeling nostalgic.There isn't much dialogue between the characters yet all the characters left a deep impression on me hahaah
Love how every moment is so out of pocket; this is peak 2000s comedy for sure.
Rewatch value is definitely 10/10

def worth all the hype, so thrilling, so intense
holy heavens. I've been putting this off just because it's got a really high rating and I just knew I would love it, so I didn't want it to be over already. And boy, did it not disappoint.I finished it in two days, and it's one of the only shows ever where I found myself daydreaming about it throughout the day. I didn't know what I was getting into at all, but it was def worth every moment at the edge of your seat.
Great acting by our MCs but I have to clap my hands more for the phenomenally intense plot. Although it kept resetting and resetting, there was never a moment when I was ever bored. Very scene unlocked a new plot twist as we found out more and more information along with the MCs.
I cried at every sad scene, happy scene, intense scene, and plot twist. I could never predict what could happen next, and that's what made everything about this show so great.
And what I am especially grateful for was that they really took their time with the ending.
10/10 stars, will def rewatch again someday.

worth the hype.
Pretty good. loved Zhou Ye and her playful character. I fell in love with Cheng Lei and his morally grey character. Love that they are always true to themselves till the end, no matter the circumstances. Love their chemistry and the storyline. I also enjoyed the complex characters like the emperor and Chu Zhao, because you don't really know their next move.My only qualm is that they couldn't have made He Yan's school days character any less believable; it's almost ridiculous, but the overall plot saves it. I also wish the 5 buddies of He Yan had more screentime. AND I wish there was a bit more suffering and crying on my end; that'll make a 10/10 drama for sure.

I watched this when I was a literal child. I do not remember much but the fact that it was so heartbreaking. One day, when I am bored, I will rewatch it and give a solid review. But for now, I like anything that is gut-wrenching as long as there is a happy ending, which I hear this show does not have.Was this review helpful to you?
pleasantly surprised
I think this was my first modern Chinese movie. I have seen all the hype and I am pleasantly surprised. This was so good. I thought I would be able to predict some plot lines, but there were so many plot twists. I was just as emotional as you'd expect it to be. Acting was phenomenal; you could truly feel it through the screen. Not really a happy ending, but it is an ending I am satisfied with because justice was served no matter what. It was good for the most part. Love the intensity. Great plot and interesting storylines; I have no bad thing to say except that it lacks in the romance depth department (prolly because of the real-life age gap), AND the ending was lowkey....weird? SO GOOD
Phenomenal.It was very refreshing from the start, with a very smart and reasonable FL. I loved her through and through, aside from one or two of her decisions, but i don't blame her- she carried a lot of burden. Props to the actress, she did an outstanding job portraying the strength and raw emotion of the character.
There were so many lovable characters, and the "bad guys" were not so bad to the point of frustration. It was also kind of refreshing to see how the main lead's love story isn't the main part of the show. I love how they both had very serious roles that also acted as barriers to their relationship.
Overall, this show was a breath of fresh air. Loved it.
My only criticism is that it lacked emotional depth; sure I cried a few times but I NEED something to damage my soul for it to be memorable hahah.

I did not like it as much as I wish I wanted to? It was definitely still good but again, another forgetable one. This was the first show where I loved the second leads more, (not their ending tho). Here's what I wrote at the time:8.5/10. Very solid. I loved it but it left me empty. I felt like the last episode was VERY rushed and it wasn't necessarily a happily-ever-after ending but i guess it was implied.
I would recommend watching it because everything about it was perfect until towards the end. But if you want a good HEA, then I recommend skipping this one.
