She keeps appearing here and there in the novel till the end. Not like she'll occupy the entire part but just enough to annoy us audience/readers and also ruin the atmosphere b/w leads

The double was to some extent good. As compared to other novel adaptations it did justice in its own way. As you said there were many instances in the novel where fl solved the problem on her own. I felt that they made her depend on ml little too much. So many scenes in novels were skipped. But in the drama worked because the chemistry was amazing and the actors gave their best with whatever script they were given . I'm not sure the same thing can be applied for rebirth of malicious empress of military Lineage cause it has so many iconic scenes so many plot twists. And the way the novel has been written makes it difficult to adapt into drama . If done well it'll be a huge hit all over the world. Cause it's a first novel and favourite novel for many people all over the world . So I literally have no expectations for this drama . Cause I heard it might be only 36 episodes. In 36 episodes they can only complete the story till Shen miao goes back to her mother's hometown I guess. Need another 40 episodes to show the story of her coming back to captial , getting married to xing jing xing and going to his place and becoming the queen she is meant to be .

Also. Falling into your smile is one of his best drama . His other dramas have that one time watch feeling . It's not that it's bad but there aren't any iconic scenes or any scenes where it can be remembered. .

Same here. Xu Kai is an amazing actor. It's just the script of the dramas he's been choosing are not making him stand out. After his drama Falling in to your smile, I haven't watched any of his dramas completely. I've given up within first 10 episodes. I'm currently watching his as beautiful as you drama let's see how this one is. I'm waiting for this drama moonlit reunion . I hope this brings out his charm and this drama becomes a success .

Exactly. I'm so attached to this novel. Cause it's my first C novel. I hadn't read any novel like this before where the fl was like Shen miao . She's so smart that she can handle any thing on her own. And XJX too he's so cunning and ruthless but he treats people with sincerity who treat him well. And honestly this drama can't be fit into 40episodes . They need to make 2 seasons. They need 60 to 70 episodes to complete the whole novel. Cause if you miss even a simple sub plot it won't have continuity in the story . And it'll be just rushing and plot will be all over the place if they keep it for 40 episodes. That's why I said I hope they don't adapt this to drama .

The way the novel has described the ml and fl characters is very difficult to put it into action. The ml is devilishly handsome ,smart , cunning and talented . The fl is beautiful and cold and is totally revenge driven . And this is not only the popular c novel among international fans , it is also everyone's favourite and the fans have huge expectations. So the casting directors will have a big problem .
Ding wei is a good actor but I don't think he has reached that level to play XJX character. If he takes up this project I hope he takes acting class or gets some pointers from veteran actors cause with his current acting it's difficult to portray XJX's character. And since this a female centred drama , the entire drama has to carried on by the female actress and tian xiwei is a pretty great actress. But I don't think she can act out those intense scenes of hatred, self guilt , scheming , calmess and coldness. I hope those actors know that many of the fans have been waiting for this drama from a very long time as you can see from the below posts and also what is at stake .
Sometimes I feel it's better not to adapt this novel into drama . And let us keep imagining our very own version of XJX and SM.
