DON'T WANNA SAY GOODBYE

So today (11/7) A dream within a dream release its finale eps. At first, this drama gave us a comedy and funny scenes. We also used to dislike Song Yimeng character because her passion to kill the main character. But, finally she realized that NH wasn't a bad guy. the moment when she finally get to know who is li shiliu, she actually realize a little things about NH. (so if u drop this drama because of her character, actually just continue it). NH character really good. Even his side identity isn't that bad.

I also suspicious with Nanrui , thought that he will became a bad (villain) , but he really innocent from first till the end. While Emperor character, he just didn't believe that his own son killed his beloved wife. For me , he kinda stupid coz why don't he seek for the truth.

And yes, Chu Guihong. THE ONE AND THE MOST ANNOYING VILLAIN CHARACTER. I really really really dislike him. Even his death, I'm not feeling sad for him. He deserved it. But, he still don't want to know about the real things. The way he keep on blaming Nanheng really make me felt like , I need to burn him alive. Chu dad aka The Scriptwriter at first appearance kinda sus and i had a feeling he will ruin the plot of the story. But luckily, he helped Nanheng at the end. Big applause to him!

Others side characters, Shangguan He and Yiting deserve it. A long and a hu, they both sometimes looks alike. Jixiang really loyal towards Nanrui. Song yude also a good character, the way he stood for nanheng and not with chu. Thanks, Weiliang didn't died! Fugui our cutie!!!!

And yes, this drama becomes my most favs drama of 2025. I love everything about this drama , comedy+tension , even the ost sounds good in the opening. And some of the scenes, we really familiar with it.

I saw no one give a review

First of all, I watched this drama because of zhang kangle. But, I like Jiang Wenhuan, Chong Yibiao and Asi character.

Sum up ;
Fresh youthful vibes – The drama feels energetic and focuses on friendship, dreams, and youthful passion.

Mix of history + light fantasy – Although set in a historical background, it’s not too heavy on politics, leaning more toward adventure and camaraderie.

New but lively cast – Most actors aren’t big names, but their acting is natural, and the chemistry between the group of friends feels genuine. And Li Zhouzhao actings really delivered a mix feelings coz how's he handle the scene.

But ...

1. Some of the eps feel a little bit draggy with filler like moments, while others rush through key developments.
2. Low-budget CGI - Scenes that should look epic (battle sequences, magical elements, wide landscapes) feel cheap or unfinished. Instead of enhancing the story, the effects sometimes distract viewers. [ Reminds tht this drama shoot 5 years ago ]
3. Kunwu’s portrayal – His delivery can feel stiff or unnatural at times, which breaks immersion. Some scenes that should be intense or emotional instead feel awkward. Maybe he's still new to industry, but honestly he just looks so awkward. But his acting really improved in LOTFG
4. Shallow conflicts – Villains and obstacles often lack depth, so the stakes don’t feel that high. I can said the some of the villains so unnecessary and that Gongsun Wuyu story is unworthy.

Sum up characters -

Jiang wenhuan - a good leader, he often thought about his members esp kunwu. And i like his character. His acting might not be so good but he handled his job.

Kunwu - first thought, during their first meeting with wenhuan i just feel his character is weird. Maybe because he is portrayed as a protagonist

Chong yibiao - his look so fierce.Wiser than others, often the voice of reason. He brings balance, though his arc isn’t as fleshed out. But his betrayal so unnecessary

E shun - useless stand still character even he helped asi ( if i can choose, i choose kunwu ) He even didn't met yibiao till his last breathe

Xinjia - his character is like an entertainer of the group. A warm, supportive presence among the youths. More grounded, but doesn’t have much standout character growth.

Asi - She so loyal! The comic relief and loyal companion. Brings lighthearted moments, though sometimes feels like filler.Symbolizes friendship and loyalty in its purest form.

Gongsun wuyu - One of the supposed “big villains.” Generic and cliché in execution — power-hungry, but without depth.More noisy than dangerous, so never really scary. No wonder I hate her from day 1

Jiang wenfeng - useless. He so underdeveloped — he could have been a layered character with conflict, but ends up flat.Feels like wasted potential.

Guxi - the good helper. Strong-willed, caring, and righteous — balances the boys’ impulsiveness. One of the more likable characters, though romance arcs around her feel undercooked. Luckily she killed the stupid king

Zhong li - is he a king? Should have been a commanding political figure, but is bland and passive.Adds little tension — a “useless king” archetype.

Yiyao - Elegant and intelligent, but somewhat distant. Could have been a mysterious female ally, but her depth isn’t fully explored. Works more as supporting eye-candy than a driver of plot. Her death so unnecessary

Ning ziyu - Villain but ain't villaining? Ambitious but shallow — his plotting feels predictable.More of an annoying antagonist than a true mastermind.

The Dauntless Youths is a light, feel-good historical adventure with themes of friendship, loyalty, and youthful courage. But it suffers from weak acting (especially Kunwu), cheap CGI, shallow villains, and underdeveloped character arcs.

If you watch it for fun, camaraderie, and bright youthful vibes, it’s enjoyable in a casual way. But if you’re expecting epic wuxia, strong political intrigue, or polished acting/visuals, it will likely disappoint.

And if you ask romance, this drama aren't a romance drama.

TIME TRAVEL BUT IT JUST A DREAM

watched this drama for fun, but honestly first 20 eps really fun and entertained. The chemistry between the leads is great. The SHEN family has two men that sometimes the audience felt angry because of their stupidness. But, when this drama reached to ep 21 and above, I kinda miss their random humor. It's suddenly feel a little angst.

The ending, Shaoguang woke up at the place in ep 1 and everything just a dream where she recalled her previous memories. She and Linyan knew those things where the family didn't. So far , it's still a good drama, if i would like to rewatch, I'll rewatch from ep 1-20 where they enjoyed their moments living in Changan handling their small restaurant.

nothing important

This drama is one of the upcoming drama that i wait. At first, i didn't hype much cause i don't want to feel disappointed later.

For me, the costumes, lighting, and CGI (for the Demon Market and spirit powers) are beautiful. Night scenes, especially, give off a romantic yet slightly eerie vibe, perfectly matching the title.

But then, some episodes are fast-paced, full of mystery and action. Maybe the production didn't edit well. or mislook.

The casts here looks handsome and beautiful. I really like meisi and liutanzhen, even the yeye. They look like a family together , where yeye is their future son who try to make his dad n mom to be together. And of course i didn't like wuzishu, like death wasn't suitable for him. He's sooo annoying character, i thought peijiya would be , but then he died.

I'm started to watch the drama version. The sequence are like:

1. Detective Chinatown 1 Movie

4. Detective Chinatown 3 Movie
5. Detective Chinatown 2 Drama

there's also another movie , Detective Chinatown 1900 leads by Wang baoqiang , Liuhaoran and Zhang xincheng.

For me, this drama really amazing! The whole plots are well written. The way the director include Tangren and Qinfeng as cameo. Lin mo character is same like Qinfeng. His genius is on another level but of course Qinfeng unpredictable. But, i hope that movie 4 , they will include Linmo as the squad solving the case.

so, it was like ep1-4 case 1 about the death of shui. A wen always look sus from the started. ep 5-8 , ivy carried the case 🤯. She really a best liar! ep 9-12 were leads by Chen zheyuan , cheng xiao and other squad. Koji character also wow. Didn't expect they did the game to find the truth.

So overall it is worth watching! Will watch season 2 next but I'mma rewatch movie 3!
