Look, I am not gonna search for the information if you are a secret hater of freenseng, billyseng or freenbecky, because I don't care. It is as well true that you need some level of maturity (and being able to see the bigger thing) to be able to understand this series from its wider perspective. For that you need knowledge and certain perception on audio visual projects in general, then you need specific knowledge and experience about young adult projects in general and then specifically about the BL young adult audio visual projects. It is as well true none tastes are the same. Or it is as well a frequent phenomenon that we tend to hate recommended projects based on secondary “reasons“ - like you being envious of your friend, or jealous, or you having an argument before that you lost to, or even won, but still some sourness remained. Or you are in the stage of a relationship where you need to differentiate your friend’s tastes from yours and a project recommended might be a middleman for you. From my perspective all the examples are possibilities with probably the same weight of probability. But objectively speaking, from my experience and knowledge, Secret Crush on You is nowhere near a bad project, or you would have to say that all Idol Factory projects are trash, which I guess many people would disagree on. But that might be your personal taste and opinion, which you are entitled to have no matter your age or experience. But still - creating a shortcut only about things you disliked is a little bit of a stretch and I recommend to you strongly trying to figure out why you dislike it so much.

I was surprised by the last ep to, and a little dissapointed for no action after ep 4., yes. But I was throwing it behind A) believing in SS2 and B) understanding it would be too much for (nearly)closed-minded BL J-dramas. But yeah, you true - I expected at least some kiss happening. And still-and still... the special ep. *melting*

...well, THAT is actually true about 5th episode, BUT what about the kiss Togawa gave Nozue at the end of ep.4? Nozue even two times reciprocated before sliding down. Even if he did not said what he said at the end of ep. 5, and if he still did that in ep. 4, that is in my head how you react decently to confession whether you have feelings or not (with Nozue frozen - aka not returning the kiss back - or not frozen, as was the case in ep.4). Situation of Nozue: confused, slow at registering, sluggish, surprised, not disgusted at all but not knowing, what he stands on. It was very unexpected. Probably for both. In my vocabulary that situation and that kiss was very much treated normally and according to circumstances, even above avreage considering what we might expect generally speaking or comparing j-bl-dramas. But watch that scene again, please, if you haven't gain all of this from watching the series on your own. That scene, where is it placed, how thoroughly it is done. It is done subtly, ingeniously, if you are not used to see specific things, you will miss on so much in this rare case. AND - THE APPROACH TO THE SCENE both from actors and creators! I must applaud. It is beautiful microworld and nothing is hung to your nose that much. I am as well positively surprised since older actors in comparison to who usually do these scenes and their age are setting an example of how these scenes should be done even in BL. Shows not only maturity but as well how dedicarted they are to acting and on what level their acting skills are, IMHO. Irks me, they are still treated with support characters AND would greatly appreciate 2nd ss of OFC.
But this series is good, it's a decent comedy with unusual plot, maybe you judgded it too soon
no, i haven't seen it yet, and i will watch it. even if it is a compete shit. that is not it. i was comparing for a long time now their tgt career, and i don't like the avreage numbers for their series in fear of if their projecta are not gonna be good, than what is their fate n the future?
oh woe tee... it would be a GREAT prank from j-drama to the constant outpour of complaints in comment section here on MDL about deadfish kisses j-series, IF they left the dead fish kisses thing AND provided at proper places the thorough ones. But of course, I come to terms here and now with we will never see such happening in this series. God thank to Old Fashioned Cupcake. At least there they treated us properly.

very simple. because there was a scandal between actress and actor from the company (leaked record of them kissing by third party), so it basically ruined two ships, on bl, one gl, for many - one of them was active and at peak at that time - freenbecky. The amount of hatred towards seng (one of the MML) after was just unacceptable. So... do not trust under any circumstances ratings. trust your own experience. (before rating was around 7.8 - 7.6, why i am not surprised it went lower?)
