Of course it does, that’s why we’re all flocking around this one gem. I’ll have to think through the differences,…
Interesting, you must be the only one who got a dirty old man vibe from Nozue, especially considering Togawa was nearly 30 there. I don't really see where the problem should be, unless we want to differentiate our own preferences regarding the main leads, which I understand is a good practice not to do in BL circles?
And I believe that in the case of Azuma Sakutaro and Kuji Shizuka, the age gap was even smaller, so it really might be that you just don't like Takeda Kouhei and his looks for some reason. Which is something I can understand, but I simply don't vibe with.
It might also be that you have personal issues with age gaps in general. Again, that's something I can understand, but I don't vibe with any of these interpretations.
There is another possibility: you are more into rom-coms and comic-relief-type, comics-like stories than real-life dramas. Again, I can understand preferences.
Interestingly enough, the age difference between Takeda Kouhei then and Watanabe Shu now is three years, if I'm correct. Takeda Kouhei was 37 when he portrayed Nozue, while Watanabe Shu is 34 now. That's just a three-year difference. They are, indeed, portraying very different types of characters: one is serious and dramatic, while the other is basically pure, contained comic relief.
I don't think Heisuke Takoi is supposed to portray someone approaching 40 and feeling like he has nothing, while Nozue was exactly that type of character. There is a difference between approaching 30 and approaching 40 in terms of the mental pressure that comes with it, and that is reflected in the atmosphere of both series.
So, I conclude that you might have some unreflected preferences and possibly that you are young, which would explain your message. Taste matures with age. :)
i believe firmly i am not the first saying this but: this hideous statue again? :D (now fingers crossed it was not made by one of the actors or the crew themselfs, or imma screwed :D)
Of course it does, that’s why we’re all flocking around this one gem. I’ll have to think through the differences, though. One of the most significant would be that OFC is through-and-through drama, while this has its almost-comic-relief-but-we’re-over-thirty-so-catching-ourselves-at-the-proper-time-and-playing-it-out-by-running-away-quickly moments. :D
...up till ep 5 - this is zzzzzzzzo gooooooddddd, why so low rating?!!! 😭😭😭 ...since episode 5: YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS, THIS SHOULD HAVE -5 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000.0 RATING! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I have the same issue. I blame the companies. They don't give this couple proper projects. I haven't started watching…
OK. That's fine. "can be their last series as a cp if dmd think the series is flop in their eye" - sounds like a reason why to stop criticising it publicly, now i see why ppl might be sensitive about it more than ever. I kinda feel like they buried them WITH Naughty Babe, NB SHOULD be THE series for them, why did DMD not create appropriate project for them then? Even more reason was thatv ZNN were support/guest roles there too. 7.7 so far is not the best, but def. improvement in comparison to previous flop projects, if they dont fuck up big time something in the project, and if they compare DMD work with DMD work (i mean domundi, not fans), they shouldn't see this as a flop - comparing their standards with their standards. (Also, it is going to drop, but if only by 0.1, it will be a good result). On the other hand, it is sad that one of the best know and firts and biggest companies doing BL can only produce projects to this level of quality. But if we believe in ability of improvements, then DMD is not lost yet. I hope it goes well for them, it would be infuriating if they had to split not over their decision or outside circumstances, but bad work of their core company.
I have the same issue. I blame the companies. They don't give this couple proper projects. I haven't started watching…
Should I be right because other people say so? Or are you right because you say you are right? ... You know that only kids say “grow up” these days, right? 🤣
For someone who wants me to be specific, your take is very general and ungraspable. So, based on your opinion, what is it that the industry actually considers successful...?
Since you are the only “everyone” I see reacting to my comments, I have a great suggestion for you: maybe don't read what I say and don't react to it, since it is “ruining your good time”? As opposed to telling other people what to/not to do, wouldn't that solve the whole issue? 🤣
But if you read my comments and, on top of that, waste your time responding and spoiling your mood further, I will give you a key to reading this, okay? Based on the data I have gathered from previous years, this is my subjective opinion, with which I reacted to someone's comment here. Most people these days don't make a drama out of a comment like this. If you feel the urge to do so (and make yourself childish in that direction), by all means, serve yourself — but don't complain about your fun being spoiled afterwards.
“Like the person above said, it honestly seems like you came here just to spread hate because you don’t like the actors.”
Another stupid, generalised child's opinion that is so flat, empty, overused, and abused, and says more about the people who use it than about anyone else they throw it at that I have exactly nothing to say to that.
“You seem to believe that a show is bad simply because it doesn’t meet your personal standards or fit your tastes,”
False. There are many audiovisual projects that don't meet my personal standards or fit my tastes, and I don't think they are bad simply because of that.
“and because it doesn’t reach the ratings you consider successful, you automatically view it as a failure and therefore a bad show.”
Now I wonder why I am responding to you if you don't read what I said before and, just because you are mad and probably a fan, grasp at any straw in some simpleton's writing just to win an argument that exists only in your head, and then try to awkwardly use it against your target. I hoped you were above that when it came to arguments; I see I was wrong.
We have nothing to say to each other, then. Have a good day.

I would say it is absolutely enough to be really good people, and I would say there is nothing wrong with working on good acting, working hard, and always being positive. It makes you a better person. But being a better person, having a fan base, and making good projects are three different things, three different games, and they are played by three different sets of rules.
I honestly don't know in what context Nat asked that. If it was in a self-doubt mode, or if he was fishing for points he can work on and improve, or if it was brought on by depression over their results. Many times, the only problem is a mismatch between what we want to work on and are ready to do something about and what it actually takes to get the results we want — again, it might be two very different things.
Sometimes, it budges itself, but many times, if only for us to do something with the time, it takes trying to do something differently, even if we get back to our old ways later, because, in the end, you cannot step into the same river twice.
"So I see many comments asking them to do more live and fanservice because that's what sells nowadays..." — interesting. People try to recommend what they see and therefore think is working, but they mostly don't know the BTS of how/why it is working. And so yes, they can try, but I would take it as one of many things they could try, and I would not rely on it as on a guaranteed success plan.
And yes, I think MaxNat are the DMD couple that bears the worst consequences of pushing only ZNN in the past, especially considering that they have roughly the same number of active years in acting.
MaxNat kissing... OK. :D They are a strange middle ground — it is not as annoying and plastic as all of the dead-fish kisses, while at the same time, the points you highlighted are valid. Again, that is absolutely something they can work on and be creative with, and there, as actors, they might suggest a change or whoever the trainer/choreographer working with them is could help them with it.
I have zero interest in pushing them to upgrade this particular thing, though, BUT FOR CHRIST'S SAKE, MAKE A PROPER PLOT AND ACTING SERIES FOR ONCE! (Then we can discuss intimacy. But ideally, upgrade both hand in hand.)
