i think shiono is clearly portrayed gay, as for Takoi, i am not sure how is it in original material (how old is he), and i am also not sure what series are you talking about, i can just guess you saw many older series where thsi portrayal was more freaquent, but if i judge the age gap is the same actors and the characters, then when Takoi was young it was cdertainly not as frequently or as openly a topic, naturally so he would be expected to be with a girl, and if he had no complaints to that concept, there might be little to no exploring in any other ponds. The thing that now is 2026 does not erase when the chracter was born and raised fact/s. It became more and more "topic to explore" - to be clear. Not that bi would not exist, not that some would not claim to be ones. But openly say you are one was very rare, also, i prefer to make something done properly, not only with the pros, but cons too, so unless you cannot create such series properly, i prefer avoid this topic for now. Also i would not diminish "only gay for you" trope, there are people who claim to fallen in love homosexually only once, i personally see more reasons why that might be, but it is enoug for now to say it exists. And for it being it in series more frequently than in population - you cannot order creators what they find inspiring, they many times cannot order that to themselves. so unless there is proper education about it, that catches ppls attention - and interest - there is no point to repeat that complaint. It would be much more useful for you to become a researched and start producing articles about this topic ideally in catchy fashion ;)

correct, i am afraid tho that where are fans, "true fans" and what not crazy stan/fans, there starts to brew this toxicity, esp. if they are a quantitatively big group. IDK about that all, i look at a project and judge based on that, I might be obsessed with style in which China makes bl series (strangely enough, i dont find chinese hetero series that interesting), but that does not make me blind from perfect korean, thai, japan, philipinnes, vietnamese or any other series. so if this degrading is done systematically, then it is just dumb, thank godness many ppl who care do know to not pay attention to ratings, and i am educating anyone who doesnt yet.
