I am mad, true, but actualy I prefer ongoings most of the time (that is why I try as much as I can to restrict myself in doing so), and this is a special case under special circumstances anywaay, really, that is why I will remember this if for nothing else. I haven't experienced so far something ongoing with this long stop-state. Exciting, in a way. 😊

Everything very much as you say, though I as well undestood he (XiGu) died, even based on side-character behavior and words, and the dude in the restaurant was a) looking alike, or b) Xiang imagined/projected XiGu's look on that dude. I could very well imagine he (XiGu) survived though, and his family (mother) hid him somewhere after the accident. Though then I found out how it was acc. the book, as you mentioned.
