You're completely missing the point here. Are you still on the first episodes? Wait until she unravels the corruption…
Well, no argument is enough when one's negatively biased against a female character.
Forgiveness should be seen as a sign of virtue, instead of outright naivety. It strikes me that seeking revenge is being uncritically advocated here. In the final episodes, Ming Tan and her father show her sister a path of redemption through forgiveness and empathy, allowing her to grow past her deep flaws and become a better person.
In their relationship dynamics, both the FL and ML show silly jealousy in various occasions, revealing their most fragile and human traits. Even the "perfect" General Dingbei can act "bitter and jealous" when he sees other men flirting with his wife. Ming Tan is a young lady, who has qualities and human flaws just like anybody. Why nitpicking on such details that are so common in every relationship?
And she did unravel the corruption scheme "by herself". Even the ML gives her the credit. But, of course, nobody ever does anything with the support of other people, that includes Ming Tan, Jiang Xu and even Your Majesty.
The FL is so so dumb guys, at least she should get some revenge on her sister Ming Chu or something for whatever…

These people claiming that the FL is stupid are really paying attention to the show? She may not be as cunning as Kill My Sins FL, but she's obviously smart, very capable, and knowledgeable, in many occasions she has demonstrated her talent and even assisted the ML with insights.
Completely unwatchable. The plot is shallow, there is absolutely zero character development, every character is stupid, foolish and dull. College students acting like 6yo having their first love? Come on, don't waste your time with this bs nonsense.
What's up with the ML acting? He has no range. When he gets upset or unconfortable in a situation, he just frowns for minutes in a strange way, looking angry or constipated, and we can't tell what he's actually feeling.
Finished 12 episodes, it's not that bad so far, but rather than short speed skating focused, it's more on romance…
Apparently you didn't pay attention to the show or you've skipped a lot of scenes or entire episodes. "Doesn't have much of personal backstory"? About half of EP1 tells FL background, then we gradually learn more about the abuses she suffered in her family. EP5 is focused on her troubled relationship with her brother and grandmother, when she makes a shocking revelation that her grandmother tried to sell her, asking some man to take her away behind her mom's back, but you say you can't feel sad for her?
Actually, the insane amount of sexual assault and forced kisses is disgusting. I don't understand how can anyone enjoy or tolerate those scenes. Besides, the FL acting is so bad that we can't truly feel her desire when she finally consents to kiss the ML.
