First of all, if you commit suicide, you're SELFISH, period! There's nothing to argue about this! Doing that,…
I am in a much better place now. In North America, we all throw words like depression and anxiety around like its nothing. But in any Korean show that I have seen mention a character get diagnosed with depression (Doctor Slump for example) they act like its the end of the world. There are so few instances where mental illnesses are properly portrayed in Asian dramas. We tend to forget that their society has a different perspective than ours.
so someone goes through hell and k words themselves but instead of validating their pain and offering help, you…
The point is that he was blinded by his misery that he missed out on or forgot the moments that mattered. If you kill yourself and don't care about the pain it causes others does that not invalidate their pain as well?
The punishment is for playing the role of God &/or Death and deciding who lives or dies. Even if you are killing yourself it's still a life taken. An immortal diety that has existed for all time doesn't care about our recent movement in society to validate our suffering.
If your life belongs to you then you should take care of it and treat it with respect.

As someone who wanted to die a few times in life, I can also agree that knowing the pain doesn't disappear when you die it just transfers to others is a very strong motivator to keep going. Suicide is selfish. Learning how to live and finding your true self is hard work and the only way to start moving forward to a better place in life.
Since I myself am a teenage runaway I related to so many of his thoughts and fears. The chaos that accompanies being someone set adrift pretending to be a drifter. The flashback of him waiting for his dad in front of his school tore through me. I loved this show. It showed how people can learn and grow from the unlikeliest of places and family isn't only about blood. The whole saying "blood is thicker than water" isn't even the original saying. The original is, "the blood of the covenant is thicker than water of the womb" which means the bonds you choose are stronger than just being related. Loved the acting and the OST.
Ever since his appearance in The Beauty Inside I have been waiting for him to grow up and be the main role in some awesome drama. He was such a great actor already at such a young age. I can't wait to see where he will end up.
Not going to lie, I couldn't guess if it would be a happy or sad ending until it arrived. Usually I can tell. I was going to be very annoyed had it ended without them together.
