It’s okay at best
For starters how can’t the ML recognize the voice of his secretary that he’s worked with practically 24/7 for a whole year? And like all the characters are just dumb, the side characters aside from the FL family are boring and full of cliches, they didn’t add much to the plot.I don’t know, I really wanted to drop this show but wanted to see how it unfolded so forced myself to watch it at 1.5x speed and it good a bit cuter and nicer when the leads got together but it’s still meh.
They dragged this way too much, could’ve done the story in like 8 episodes and it would’ve been way better.
It’s really not worth the rewatch at all.

Fun, light, just a romcom
The latest comments talk about this drama like it’s the worst they’ve ever seen and I think that such a reach lol, like it’s not groundbreaking it’s a cute lighthearted romcom, chill.I do think that the last episodes lacked some substance, felt like they were dragging the story to get the 12 eps, they could’ve explored more of the storylines and the 1 year jump was so cliche, the very end felt so meh.
There were come things that were left unanswered, like why did the brother take the money? Did Young-seo’s dad talked to her again? Did Tae-moo’s grandpa accept her? Did Min-woo come back? (Did he ever liked her?)
I liked the story and it was a fun watch, Young-seo and Sung-hoo’s relationship had me giggling and kicking my feet I loved them lol, just wished the story at the end wasn’t so rushed but anyway I really liked this show!

Cute Romcom
Overall I liked it, it’s a cute lighthearted drama! The cast is really good, my fav character was the ML I feel like he got the best character development and was the only mature one at times lol. The FL is your tipical dumb girl that is supposed to be “not attractive”, she’s not like other girls yk lol but more tolerable than most FLs imo. The only thing I don’t like about her it’s that she’s a bit selfish and immature mainly in her relationship with the ML.
I honestly skipped the love story of the ML’s brother, it just felt forced and I wasn’t interested in the man after the story with the FL was done, I would’ve love to see if Seon-ok and Tae-Kwon got together at some point we only saw them flirt one episode and then the story jumps to 2 years later and that’s it, the last episodes felt quite rushed tbh.

It’s okay, cute and simple
I honestly almost didn’t watch this because of the recent comments saying it’s so bad but I still gave it a chance and it’s not as awful as people are saying, like it’s a 2015 romance of course it’s going to be cringy lol. Compare it to dramas of the same year, it fits right in.It’s okay, not super good just okay not worth the rewatch. The FL is dumb and annoying, the ML is mean and cold then he becomes sweet to her…your typical cheesy romance drama characters. The story is cute of the childhood sweethearts and how they found each other again. I honestly hated the “glow” up of the FL they made her look 20 years older, but I’m glad that didn’t completely change her and she still showed her “ugly” face (like she’s so pretty just had curly hair and skin issues but you know korean beauty standards..)
In the last episodes it’s so slow and just way dumber like they try to fill the 16 episodes quota, the FL is so much more annoying in the last few episodes. And the last episode is mostly filled with trowback scenes if you skip all of those the actual episode is like 20 minutes.
In conclusion, just give a watch it’s entertaining lol.

Good but could’ve been better
This drama was so so refreshing and entertaining, I normally don’t watch period dramas but this one is so unique I had to watch it. I liked it overall but felt like some episodes were just “fillers” I feel like you could skip a couple episodes and go to the last two without any issue. Would’ve loved to see more of the implications in the present time of the decisions the king made, and where was the queen’s soul this whole time? how did Joseon change with the king’s new ideas? what was of the life of the chef after he returned to his body? So many questions and stories that could’ve been answered without extending the amount of episodes. Was this review helpful to you?
