This series is very nuanced and seemingly simple. If you really want to understand why this BL is so beloved, you must read between the lines. This is unlike most series I've watched. The characters don't tell you how they feel and to keep us their perfect appearances, their expressions won't dramatically show it. This series is about many things; it tackles serious topics like society's beauty standards, abandonment, isolation, neglect, and more. It doesn't belittle or invalidate.
