it was like reading a book for me
most kdramas are just kdramas for me, its a story its a series and i enjoy watching them. however, something about this drama made me feel like i was reading a book about how life is. maybe it was the filmography maybe it was the lines but something about this drama was on a different level of profound and beautiful to me.
before watching, i had no knowledge of what this would be about except on the great casting. hell, i thought this was actually a movie and not a series. while watching, it felt like a little bit of everything: romance, angst, slice of life, and grief. which is what i liked the most about it. it was perfectly a balance of everything we experience. this kdrama was the epitome of what life is and that's what i loved about it. it felt so Real that watching it was just a nice refreshing feeling for me. nothing was exaggerated and you know, how the characters approached everything in this story felt so again, real. it was human.
honestly, nothing particularly stands out in this kdrama. nothing is unique and nothing is special but i feel like that's whats makes it so beautiful for me. nothing is grand yet in small pieces i find something beautiful.
again, it felt like reading a book. like how books would allow me to reflect on things, this drama made me reflect too. it made me gain perspective on life and idk... it just feels nice to watch these type of kdramas that remind us that reality is reality and while there is pain, there is also happiness and beauty in it.
my favorite lines from this were
"life seems to have a fixed amount of happiness. in other words, there is also set amount of misfortune"
"so now i'm going to live every moment to the fullest. because life isn't a movie but a reality"
"life is a beautiful, magnificent thing, even to a jellyfish"
overall, i loved this kdrama a lot and it will forever hold a place in my heart. as i said the story isnt even grand yet when i look at this kdrama as a whole, it was a perfect and beautiful kdrama for me.
would love to commend choi wooshik especially for perfectly representing gyeom who allowed me to see that life has indeed a fixed amount of happiness but nothing is bad about it because it is again, just life.
