I thought the SFL story was going somewhere but they totally ignored it 🤦🏽 overall great drama
2FL wasn’t in the original novel (or maybe she died with the rest of 99 disciples). But they redeemed her by making her a trusted advisor to FL and having her and Mr. Snake help the leads.
If y’all can remember. ArThur Chen was supposed to be the ML in love game in eastern fantasy. But replaced with…
What was the scandal? And, anyhow, LGIEF was a very nice drama and gave us a reunion of “Moonlight” case (3 out of 4 leads were in LGIEF). So it all worked out for the best ☺️
The ending...they shouldve atleast added 5 minutes of interaction...
We all want more of them together in the modern world, but it may have been difficult for screenwriters to add more dialog while adhering to censorship rules. Most of us take the ending as their 4th lifetime together but — for censorship reasons — the creators can’t say that out loud and have to make it appear like a dream for regulators (while heavily hinting to viewers it’s a 4th lifetime together).
Exactly... I just don't like this kind of ending anymore... too cliche
We have to blame Chinese regulators for that. They don’t allow stories like this to be real because people take them too seriously, apparently, and there have been people who had done bad things to themselves to get reincarnated, etc. 😳🥺
There was no modern world for sure (was added due to censorship). I believe they stay in the mortal realm in the…
These rules are the reason I was surprised The Princess Royal could get away with time travel (going back into their earlier bodies). But someone in the comments pointed out there were some hints it was a dream that creators put in there to appease regulators. I don’t remember anything like that, so it must’ve been very subtle — just enough to point out to regulators and make them happy 😁😉
Continuing Moonlit Reunion. Probably will start Shadow Love.
Whatever you do, avoid “Ear Run Love” (with Arthur Chen). It had a good cast, but screenplay was quite bad, like a less interesting version of Lighter & Princess (a very good drama with him). For Wang Yi Lu, she just had a new drama come out a few days ago (only 12 episodes and all are out) — it’s called Twelve Letters. Much more emotionally heavy though based on what someone said in the comments here (still very good drama apparently).
Let’s be honest, there’s no romance in the novel (or donghua, or live action). And I believe NGW wouldn’t…
To cover both novels, it’d take 9-10 seasons (they are super long, about 3800-3900 chapters combined). There are rumors 🍉 of YY potentially signing on for two more seasons to finish a certain part of the story. But nothing is official yet. Animated version (donghua) is ahead of drama but will still take until 2039-2040 to finish (at the current pace). Novel fans supposedly love NGW more, donghua fans supposedly like another character more (would be introduced in drama’s season 2) and there’s an important third female character too (not sure if she’d be in season 2 or season 3; I didn’t dig that deep). Same team is making both versions so maybe they will change things up. The novel has a bit of a harem situation but one female companion probably can claim a slight edge (due to very spoiler-ish reasons from the second novel).

No 😳🫣 I don’t mind long dramas when it’s worth it for the story (so it’s like multiple “seasons”). But don’t you think that too often C-dramas are guilty of making dramas too long by having writers add unnecessary misunderstandings, tired tropes, or other ways of just adding additional episodes for the sake of achieving high episode count? 😳🥺
There was no modern world for sure (was added due to censorship). I believe they stay in the mortal realm in the…
Yes, very few dramas manage to get around that. in recent memory, The Princess Royal did it by throwing some very subtle hints it may be a dream (which are very easy to miss but it was enough to satisfy censorship).
I don't know why recent Cdrama don't have a proper happy ending. I watched this one then moonlight reunion then…
Can’t speak for MR and SOOY (still watching them), but in what universe is this not a happy ending? It’s not mega-happy ending, but it’s clearly a happy open ending 🤔

Thanks! I don’t need to watch any other shows before/after ELOD, right? I think comments says “Eternal Love” didn’t have right to ELOD book so the story isn’t the same.
