The leads are so adorable when they do “honey” and “dear” to each other. Reminds me of “Are You the One” couple except it was real in that drama ☺️

In the novel, did she really want to take her own life? In the drama it was the bad guys trying to get her to stumble into the water so she would drown. Only ML thought she was trying to drown herself.

I really think he cares most about his daughter because he wants her as his disciple/companion. The mother of the child is “nice to have” but he probably doesn’t care all that much.

You just have to bear with it for the last few episodes. Or maybe just watch ep. 11 (and epilogue) + ep. 12 to find out what happens.

Have you watched Love Scout? It’s really great K-drama from earlier this year. This one started off well but got too predictable and too trope-y towards the end (screenwriters need to do better).

I think it’s more like FL isn’t sure she can successfully juggle both relationship and studies. But some things happen in Ep. 12 and a trailer for Ep. 13 shows even more interesting events 🫣

Wiki doesn’t offer much help 😳 I was only able to find that Yun Lu “cultivates techniques that cause him to be overcome with lust. He is renown for forcefully having his way with both men and woman.” But in the drama it seems to be consensual — Hongfu said she was in love and already pregnant when she found out his true nature.

Not really a sad ending but, because there’s a war, some characters do not make it 🥺

Live action drama is an adaptation from the novels by the same team which is making ongoing donghua. Also, donghua itself isn’t nearly complete yet (unfortunately). Doesn’t donghua only cover like 1/4 of the first novel so far? Here in the comments we did a rough estimate and figured out donghua will be finished in 2040 at this rate 😳🥺🫣

Let’s hope they can come up with a reasonable explanation or some way to appease the critics. Censors allowed The Princess Royal, so maybe here they will also slip under the radar by conveniently “forgetting” about the whole coma dream element 😉

Chinese censorship doesn’t allow time travel and stories like that (you can read discussions about that in earlier comments). So in dramas they usually explain away such events as being in a dream/coma or everything occurring in a book, video game, etc.

Chinese characters are different in their names, but it’s an interesting coincidence :)

If there’s a season 2, most cast would probably change other than the main character. All of Han Li’s old friends & enemies are very, very far away geographically.
