For whatever reason, in K- and C-dramas actors are very often cast for roles 7-10 years younger than their real age. I guess that means if high school students are played by people in mid-20s, we have a college student played by 33-year old actress.

Apparently this is a pretty common genre (going inside the novel) based on comments here. And there indeed was a recent popular Chinese drama about FL going into a setting of a novel — Love Game in Eastern Fantasy (more of a video game / fantasy setting though).

The show is only 12 episodes long so we can’t have a slow burn like in a C-drama 😁

A typical thing to do would be to have FL wake up back in the real world in the last episode or two (so, ep. 11 or 12); have some character development (FL is getting her life back together); then FL meets ML, they have an instant connection and… The End :)

FL is a student IRL, so she’s in her early 20s.

The whole process is overseen by Queen Mother so they are going to rig it in favor of Hwa Seon. If they are going to be eliminating contestants along the way, the final 3 will probably be FL, SFL and Hwa Seon.

Based on what was shown, it’s clear that the evil scheming lady (the one who wants to marry ML) sent Mark on purpose to infect FL. It’s probably not a real plague but enough to get her quarantined so she would not be able to find out about marriage application deadline.

She’s from the modern world and is trying to be nice. FL probably feels responsible for that guy because she’s the only one who speaks a bit of English. Insofar as drama writing goes, this is far, far from outlandish, especially since it’s a comedy and not a serious historical drama like, say, The Tale of Lady Ok.

Agree with PMod — SFL’s heart not set on ML. At most, she just wants to be a good daughter. And, really, if she/her dad knew that SML was interested in her, that’d have been enough for them probably.

That actress is very in demand :)

Through 4 episodes, what are the differences?

Hwa Seon is still the biggest rival (most scheming person). Eun Ae clearly is going to end up with SML, so they cannot make her evil.

Ep. 4 just showed up in Viki’s iPhone app (I guess at 10 am CST / 11 am EST). I think I had similar issue with My Nemesis and would watch it somewhere else first sometimes.

Sometimes I have to restart my mobile app (force close it) to get the latest episode to show up. TV app can also lag too.

Based on the previews I think starting with Episode 4 the pair will want to be together but others will try to prevent that.

Episode 3 is on Viki already (it becomes available shortly after airing in Korea).
