Thanks! Added it to my list. Low budget is not a problem as long as the story is good. Heck, I’ve watched a few dramas from Philippines recently and budget of P-dramas might be less than costume budget on, say, The Prisoner of Beauty 😆

I remember her from “Mr. Fox and Miss Rose” where she played a very innocent character which is polar opposite of here. Just read up on “Ancient Love Song”; seems very interesting but is the overall tone bittersweet or hopeful? I don’t mind open endings if they give a glimmer of hope.

Miles Wei plays 2ML very well. I liked 2FL actress in another drama where she played a very positive FL, so it’s interesting to see her playing a very bad person. Both second leads probably had a good time being evil 😈

Evil Princess is at least somewhat rational — she just wants to have 2ML to herself (so even her attempts to eliminate FL have some rationale). But 2FL is just a delusional psycho at this point — somehow he flipped from hating FL to wanting her and now doing all sorts of things to get her back (as if!). Hopefully, in the end Evil Princess gets rid of 2ML, retires to the countryside and starts raising bunnies 🐰😁

Only one season of this show has been announced so far but, based on the pace of the episodes, it should cover the entire novel. There was a second novel in this mini-universe but it’s not clear if it will be filmed (probably depends on reception to this show).

With all that, the Evil Princess isn’t even the worst person here. FL’s ex / EP’s husband is so much worse. Allost everything bad can be traced to his actions or delusions.

Lie Chang is a dead man walking — it’s only a question of who deals with him: The Evil Princess or ML. The Princess herself cannot be dealt with yet due to who her father is.

Liu Chang is even worse than the Evil Princess. I think it’s almost a guarantee that as soon as he loses favor with the Evil Princess, ML will quickly deal with him.

This dramas doesn’t even pretend to be realistic so underwater kiss seems perfectly fine compared to other realistic/serious dramas where people have time to have a deep talk during a firefight or spend 5 minutes saying goodbye to each other even though someone is chasing them.

Once FL wakes up, she will probably meet someone who looks like ML in the real world (for all we know, it could be the novel’s author).
