Yes, all dramas turned out to be pretty chill. There’s another drama based on his novel (Road Home [2023]) that actually was TOO slow and TOO chill even though ML was SWAT/explosives expert (a bit similar in themes to Fireworks of My Heart but much less exciting).

This drama is definitely lighter in tone than, say, The First Frost (great drama!) but sometimes it’s nice to just relax & chill. That’s why I love When I Fly Towards You (same author as The First Frost and Hidden Love) or slow-burn/no-stress dramas like Amidst a Snowstorm of Love and Love Me, Love My Voice (both based on novels by the same author).

It fits in the theme of the drama but — selfishly — I was hoping for all romance 🥰 for the last few episodes. But this is a very good drama still :)

Really enjoyed this drama but kind of wish that episodes at the end were simply more about the relationship and not about a major health issue.

Yes, FL is the editor and ML is the author. Three of the four main actors/actresses in Moonlight are in Love Game in Eastern Fantasy (only 2FL is played by a different actress) so LGIEF is like a reunion 🥰

They originally thought it might be 36 episodes, scripts were done for 33 episodes, filming was done for 30 episodes and then during final approval/censorship review it became 23 based on what the government & YOUKU wanted.

They only filmed 30 episodes so they didn’t have to cut down THAT much. But it’s been so good so more would have been nice 👍🏻

They only filmed about 30 episodes. Final order is 23 episodes. I usually enjoy slow burn dramas but this one is nicely paced too, at least in my eyes.

FL had three other people on her original team so my thinking was that she would need more than Shan Shan to help her meet the deadline for the contest.

She may not be as toxic as we fear. In the novel, she wasn’t that bad (at least, that’s what people said). More like an average level of drama mom. But you can wait until the drama is finished and find out for sure.

You are welcome! I learned about it when reading responses to people who wanted to stir up drama and who claimed that somehow it was Esther Yu’s fault for the drama title being different. In reality, of course, Chinese language titled stayed the same as the original novel. English-language title is Ski Into Love is for the same reason why very, very many English titles aren’t the exact translation — people in marketing think it is more appealing.

I believe the poster is in reference to its Chinese title which is translated as “Shh, the King is Hibernating” and that phrase refers to both ML & FL needing to awaken and fulfill their potential (e.g., for ML to go back to competing and for FL to break free from the bad publishing company & to return to her glory).
