Super happy for the drama team but is this really a surprise? The is drama based on a novel by a talented writer and starring well-known actors.

Later this year there’s going to be a third drama in Hidden Love/The First Frost universe (the writer of which also wrote When I Fly Towards You) and will have a well known cast. Are we going to be surprised if that one turns out well? 😬😁

Childhood connections is a well-worn trope in C-dramas too :) But in this drama we have a tragic childhood for ML (because of his dad) AND to make it even more stressful we have a connection between his dad and her dad (and not a good connection). I know everything is going to be resolved amicably but still makes me a bit anxious. I can appreciate a drama like that but I must confess to enjoying those rare few dramas where leads get along with their families and families get along with each other :)

This drama would be even MORE enjoyable if they didn’t add a fated connection between fathers of FL & ML. We really need a rule that a drama can have only one of (a) tragic childhood upbringing or (b) unfortunate connection between leads’ families 😳😬

Yeah, we all know how this will end. But hopefully the journey won’t go off the rails 🙏

Out of everything that happened in episodes 1 & 2, focusing on her behavior at the party is giving that moment too much weight. In the heart of it, the core themes of this drama are pretty relevant, especially given low birth rates in Korea (along with many other countries).

This is a very good drama as long as your expectations are accurate. It’s not a romcom but a more thoughtful drama about imperfect people trying to understand each other while dealing with their fears, doubts and self-criticism. There are also multiple twists/discoveries along the way ;)

I agree that it’s not a typical romcom. But I think it’s not specifically about multiple personality disorder — that was more done as a way to illustrate typical fears and self-doubts that live inside all of us.

I loved “Love in the Clouds” but it was not as steamy as “When Destiny Brings the Demon” (which aired right before LITC). The couple in WDBTD literally wrote the dual cultivation manual that FL in LITC was reading 🫣 I’m still convinced that the crew bribed censors to allow SO MANY intimate scenes 🤣😁

You were spared the pain of having to wait every day for new episodes 😳😬

I’m growing to appreciate Fireworks of My Heart because the FL stayed with ML despite all the crazy things her stepparents did to ML & his family.

Maybe the leads will do a historical drama together next :)
But after this drama LYX will have a drama that will probably be very hyped up — it’s a third drama in Hidden Love/The First Frost universe. Coincidentally, HL/TFF writer also wrote When I Fly Towards You which was directed by the same director as Love Between Lines!

And to connect things even more, FL’s ex & his bride were played by actors from Amongst a Snowstorm of Love where the FL was played by the same actress as in Shine on Me 😁

The drama is relatively short so I really hope they get this over quickly (but seems like ep. 19 may be our best guess). That’s the one thing I appreciated about Shine on Me — steady progression to a relationship 🥰

ML told FL they aren’t blood-related so probably just a friend / acquaintance of his dad.
