I have to say that now that we have a few episodes Left, I am a bit disappointed in the direction of a specific point of the story. In LIP s ending, after they wrecked your sould and throw it in despair, they gave you a light of hope by pointing out a new generation will rise. They showed a girl who should have been the daughter of hong ye s friend who could turn into Rock I guess, showed someone in the Zhang family that must have been Zhang Qui. So my wild mind though there would be a mask group 2.0 in the story, that would make up for their families lost in the boundaries. But they killed Zhang Qui out, and did not even used the son of Hong ye s friend who is in wheelchair. I guess I am disappointed by my own expectations.

She does baby and spoils him, but kept him.in check too. When she learned he was doing dark magic, she told him to stop , and he did. And when she finally admitted he was the real culprit, she did not cover for him, but tried to redeem him.
For the FuGue thing, I did not see it in that angle. I simply though she thought she was in control, and could extract the fox herself with her seed without killing him, so she fled with him. Also, she did not wanted to hand him over as she kept telling Herself her Didi was abused to evilness by the black fox.
But as for the rest, yes, the writers handled the job poorly. Out of nowhere, QC became that very viscous person when he was described to be naive and fragile, QT let too much slide and took too much time to understand something was going on with him, when the man made such drastic change before her, and in the end, we never knew what kind of character QC really is outside of the trope of obsessive lover and villain with tragic backstory.
It would have been cool to have him siding with the black fox, while remaining a very sane person ( maybe like black fox ' s lover in LIP), and certainly not obsessing over his sister. It would have made sense if he choose hate and the demon side, thinking he was working for the greater good. In the end, wether he choose to stick to this side or change it, it would had made some impact even if he died.

Somehow, when she said she wanted them to be family again in next life, and he said he rather not, it summed up pretty well how complicated their relationship was. Because QC annoyed the hell out of us and we wanted his face out of our screen ( and everyone was right for that), we got frustrated with her forgiving him over and over again. At the end of the day, when we don't have an harmonious relationship with a family member, it hurts both way. And it stick to QT s character to not forsake her bro , but try to save him by any means.

I think it's about emotions, expectations. Like if you are enjoying very much one aspect in the drama even if the rest is "garbage", if the emotions click right and you had a great moment, you would feel like this series was great. There are many dramas with plate and fade storylines that amassed praising only because of the acting, the romance, and because some people could have their favorite actors there. Which is why you would see the repetitive trope in a lot of drama, turning them into manufacturing products. Now in the same way, even if the story is doing okay, the fact that there are characters who annoy the viewers, or there are decisions taken that don't meet their expectations, you will see people throwing the whole story under the bus, just because they are not enjoying the emotions right now. That s the beauty and headache of watching ongoing
series lol . The mood in the comment section will change according of how the writers handled the plots in the series. And if it has a satisfying ending,.some of the people complaining won't even come here to take back what they said and just consider the final emotions the drama gave, which was positive.
About expectations , fans could feel deceived and disappointed the story is not going where they thought it would had been best for it to go. This can b an obstacle in enjoying the route the writers took, specially when this route is not well mastered. And let's not even talk about novel adaptations lol. I noticed viewers tend to be more harsh on stories which has been adapted, since the novel or original sources already gave the right emotions. Normally, they are waiting for something that can top that..

The writers could have go a different route than the annoying villains that they refuse to kill and are still causing Havock, I give you that. And there is a lot of informations they could have process in a better flow. But no, the story is not annoying. not great, but not bad either.

Actually no. I am okay with watching something with no romance, or light in Romance, I am not someone who have fav actors, I have not seen or read the original sources, so I can't compare, and so far, the story is not as terrible as people wants to say it is. It's not perfect, yes, but it still make sense so far.
I understand the frustration people have about several points, but this is not enough to just say it's horrible or bad . I have seen dramas with weaker stories that people loved for this year, just because romance was giving the right amount of fluff.

There is too much allies on the villain side as you said. And since hatred is their fuel, it will be difficult to beat them. So yes, if there is more help in the heroes s side, I will feel more at peace. Specially when you know at any moment, any of them could die
