LMFAO, not me having a long-ass paragraph theorize that we will finally get Seungjun arc about his Inferiority Complex towards Ung and it turned out to be an Injury instead 😭
The trailer always fooled me, and I never be able to figure it out First, I thought MunUng trauma was because of his dad - Wrong I thought Ung had a crush on Ujin = Wrong Seungjun's Inferiority Complex - ALSO WRONG
Okay, I'm not going to make theory anymore, this is embarrassing
As predictable as it is, but I won't complain, Hanyang and Daesang are in a different bracket, so the grand Final will be theirs ! ! Pretty similar to Racket Boys' Haenam vs Seoul arc and it was done fantastically, I believe SBS will do the same\
Also, Nationals is THAT serious for them bruh 😭 It's so funny, glad we switch the pace a bit after that harassment on Iji
Make sure to distinguish clearly, because this is just a high school rugby team, not professional rugby — those…
Oh come on, don't disregard real life like that, there's literally a live action movie called Rebound which was based on a True Story, heck even you can watch their real match on YouTube
It's nearly the same as this, literally about picking up 5 basketball players in a high school, trained them by a coach that rejected by the country and they play with no substitute player, and they manage to get into the final in national tournament, so yeah
and all of them became professional basketball player in Korea except one who got injured, , this kind of motive also exist in real life
Episode 9 review - It's good, stellar cinematography and well directed BUT if we see this as a drama that had only 3 episodes left, WHERE ARE WE GOING with those? why are cycling in the same place over and over?
This drama has so many reasons to be one of my all-time favorites because it blends so many things together, but it felt off to me the way they dragged a certain sub plot, 12 episode is short but it won't feel that way if only they have a decent screenwriter, no disrespect but the story telling in this drama gave you a feeling where you would be like "Ugh, this again?" , they always wanted to tell us that "Oh. the adult is so bad" like, okay, we get it, ARATAGO
We will finally get Seungjun's character arc soon, maybe? but in episode 10 out of 12? they tried to open so many arcs for their cast yet none of them done justice except MunUng, Garam and Yeonggwang
Why can't they explore more about Yun Seungjun? Because it clearly shows us that this dude had so many things need to be dealt with, first his inferior complex when it comes to family. they don't even bother to show us his twin, they just threw the plot "uh, this man here is worse, so his parents favour his twin", Second, his dynamic with Taepung, bro, if you watch the drama carefully, they really tried to show us in the scene whenever SJ had an eye contact with him where he felt betrayed as if they had a thing in the past, and so on, I had so many problem with SJ character not because he's bad, but just bcs he's not fully developed
Ugh I had so much thing to rant about this drama But again, if we ignore that this is a 12-episode drama, it really can give us such a enjoyment while watching because, each episode served its purpose, balancing well between comedy and drama itself, but if you keep it in mind that it only had 3 episodes left, you will realize, damn, the pacing is ass
I watch tons of Sports-themed drama, so I always think that the best part to "ruin" the dynamic and strength the plot is to make the "Inferiority complex" sub plot, and I saw this coming to The Winning Try as well
The moment where MunUng got praised as "Superstar Rookie and the next Ju Garam", while we all know, Ju Garam himself is SJ's idol, yet nobody seen him as such, I had the feeling that it won't be the love triangle that will make a fuss between SJ and Ung, it's the "He's better than me" plot which is so much better
In Racket Boys when Yoon Haekangg found someone, he finally saw worthy pr in Hikaru No Go where Shi Guang found the meaning of "RIVAL" and it drives them crazy to became good, it's cliche but always works
So I really hope MunUng can become the Initiator for Seungjun so that we finally get SJ character development
So, this randomly came into my mind but, actually, I don't hate Seulhyeon (the nepo baby) She's genuinely just vibing and clueless, and isn't petty when she lost, she's also not that much worse than Ujin in skill,
Why I appreciate it, because Nepos in other kdrama is just so worse and untalented to begin with, while her? pretty, skillful, vibing and didn't see his rival as enemy need to be taken down by all forces
He is just as bad as the other two males. I think he will reveal the sickness of the ML.
his concern about rugby team was actually so genuine, but after being kicked out, it will drive him to hate the ML even more and yap, he'll exposed everything , he's such a hater 😭
ju garam could have literally told them before the nationals that he's sick with the disease or even after he…
I think you miss some of the dialogue, while I do I agree it's getting stretched a bit much, The motive is clear, the Rugby team is having HUGE BUDGET due to past achievement , and by disbanding them, those unused budget will be allocated to other's coaches division
But what I saw from the drama, these rugby team seems like doesn't have budget at all, their training camp looks like in someone's backyard so they really failed to show the motive
Also about the sickness, he couldn't tell them because of the law where you can't coach if you have illness, he will definitely get kicked out from the school, so who's going to save these 7 helpless students if it's not him, if you're in sports academy, 1 of the MUST HAVE thing is no illness, that's why not just him, even coach bae got kicked out for lying about having an illness
What’s great about the show is that it doesn’t glorify sudden talent upgrades that propel characters straight…
Yeah, I'm glad they give this show more layers to expand its depth, this drama still stands on its ground as rugby themed drama idk why people find it otherwise 😂
i love most aspects of the show but it is truly so fucking stupid letting his loved ones and an entire nation…
Yeah, it really looks like some of the nonsense to tighten the dramatic aspect, until we walk on their shoes
I remember this also happened in real life, but different sports
Lee Chong Wei, a Malaysian superstar, same as Ju Garam, is the national treasure, and was the only hope for the nation to complete in higher level at the time, why would he doped when he was already the best player itw at the time? and when got punished, he remains silent, he got criticize left and right, until 4/5 years later, he forced to retired because he has cancer
Is it even about Rugby ??, why are we not getting main plot but side plots 🥴 oh goodness, pls focus on Rugby
Did you even watch the freaking show? YES IT'S ABOUT RUGBY, the entire sub plot revolves around it, like, tell me what side plot that drive them away from rugby?
Just because this show rarely show the actual rugby match doesn't mean it neglected the plot, they just expanding it to give more layer and depth which they succeeded, it may have some issues but it's never about "not about rugby"
and you can't be serious, runnin' like a shooting star better? lmao, that dumpster only carried because it has "Bromance" to satisfy its fans, shall we talk about how horrendous the cinematography was? Or how terribly directed th dialogue were? or the actor that running like an amateur chunk? or how skinny Twinkie they look when they were supposed to be "national athlete", LOL, such insane thing to say
Like teacher, like Students
DOPING KAJAAAA
The trailer always fooled me, and I never be able to figure it out

Last week's episode full of angst that I forgot this is comedy drama
She's genuinely just vibing and clueless, and isn't petty when she lost, she's also not that much worse than Ujin in skill,
Why I appreciate it, because Nepos in other kdrama is just so worse and untalented to begin with, while her? pretty, skillful, vibing and didn't see his rival as enemy need to be taken down by all forces
But kdrama inability to not included a physical bullying still getting on my nerves
Hikaru No Go, Hot Stove League, Racket Boys, Rebound
But what I saw from the drama, these rugby team seems like doesn't have budget at all, their training camp looks like in someone's backyard so they really failed to show the motive
Also about the sickness, he couldn't tell them because of the law where you can't coach if you have illness, he will definitely get kicked out from the school, so who's going to save these 7 helpless students if it's not him, if you're in sports academy, 1 of the MUST HAVE thing is no illness, that's why not just him, even coach bae got kicked out for lying about having an illness

So I feel like, athlete has its own issues
Just because this show rarely show the actual rugby match doesn't mean it neglected the plot, they just expanding it to give more layer and depth which they succeeded, it may have some issues but it's never about "not about rugby"
