Just finished the first 2 episodes and it's such a BLAST ! !
What an entertaining start

Packed and amazing action scenes, great directing, fun scoring, and top tier comedic, but on top of all that, is the EDITING ! ! The cut transition between each scene is just so good, perfect, this is what Weak Hero and High School return were lacking off

Also, the chemistry between the 2 male lead is just *chef kiss*


(To be honest, the moment they teased girls' character at the end of the 2nd episode, I don't know why but it suddenly kills my vibe, lol, I have no Idea about the webtoon I just hope those girls will not be as cringe as Revenge of Others)

they won't, it's Youku's original drama, so it can't be distributed to other platform for an uncut version, and Youku won't risk their company for it, they didn't even try to fight back when Justice in the dark was cancelled or JiaYouBaShaoNian when getting removed from an International servel, so, let it go T_T

Yes, he only returned for his cousin, and he was the one who said that in episode 10, he does not give a shit about others hence why he willing to leave FOR Jiahao as well as stay FOR Jiahao, that's why they are the main lead

He was only doing that because Jiahao told him about it lmfao, was so eager? come on you have been exaggerating things, the first 10 episode was just all about him and Jiahao getting back to heal him and to get rid of his trauma

Not a single argument where I claimed there is love between them, but well yeah maybe brotherly love, because that what it is, he did ONLY come back for Jiahao, argue with Jiashu yourself because he was the one who said that, should I re-explaining this matter again, well, the difference is that why it looks like he wanted to be part of it again because. he GRADUALLY find more and more reason to stay after he spent time with Jiahao, and through Jiahao, he won't even have access nor a chance to go back to that family if it's not all about his bonding with Jiahao

"He wanted someone to grab him from the family" did you think Jiashu made all those efforts traveling, organize the document just to contradict his first initial reason back to the village? funny enough

"He would have to do more than acknowledge-" when the whole point of his "bad" character is not acknowledging Jiashu as the part of the family, that's his character arc, I'm not saying his character is redeemable tho, because Jiashu is not the only reason he became such a terrible person

But I would love to hear what exactly things he should've done to be redeemable, but staying in his character arc

This is such a backwards argument, you just re-explaining the show that everyone is aware of, the thing is, you were saying that ancestral scene WAS SO important for the story, but in fact, the conclusion of the show backfired & neglected that scene, dare I say, that rage became pointless since all that "I'm going to cut ties and free my brother" anger only for him to be engraved on the family tree again and bring his didi back to that cursed family, so removing that scene is not bad either because it can keep the premise of "returning back"

NO ! ! Jiashu did comeback ONLY for Jiahao, and worse, his first initial to comeback is to CUT TIES with them by trying to get Jiahao's agreement on accepting all of his heritage, he didn't even once mention his grandpa during their exchange word about his reasoning to comeback to Xiqiao with the 2nd Uncle, Jiashu didn't even give a shit about his grandpa throughout the show until he heard him was at the hospital, lol, I forgot in which Episode, He Jiashu said "Jiahao is fine, so I have no reason to stay", so tell me, in what part he came back for his granddad? 🤣

Again, his tantrum in Ancestral wasn't for him either, that rage scene was to imply his limit of what that HONOR has caused, and it's all started from Jiahao, he reached his limit when the grandpa nearly dying because of Jiahao's missing

Also, His goals were never about coming back as family members, do you even watch the show? 😭 why do you think he tried to give away all the assets and money back to HE through Jiahao if he wanted to be part of it?

The thing is, WHILE getting along with his didi, he GRADUALLY find a reason to come back home, remember, GRADUALLY, not a setting goals, because he only found out that the family were never actually putting blame on him

When I said you hate it, I'm aware that it's not about the series, it's about situation, you hate that they removed the scene,

that's why I thought you hate the situation about them gaining more viewers even with the mess

I had already said ancestral was the exception, that too only added 1 thing "freeing Jiahao from HE burdens", but at the end of the day, they are still coming back to that family, even kowtow to the SAME ancestral he had destroyed, being emotional when they put his name back on the carved family tree in FRONT of the same ancestral

Is not that scene being pointless and kind of, hypocrite??

you didn't hate yet you can't even accept the fact that it's gaining more viewers 🤣 I mean, whatever help you to cope that they are failed commercially

those deleted scene won't added much to save this drama's storyline quality, most of scene are hugging and physical content, they don't really add any value except for emotional aspect, the only MAJOR removed scene that will help the plot is the ancestral scene, this drama have so many flaws, writing wise and directing wise

who told you the lose viewers? 😭 it's literally gaining even more and more on youku index popularity, it's even top 10 in the entire country right now, mind you its not even romance or costume drama, open your douyin ranking data and it's literally floating up all the way down, nearly HALF BILLION VIEWS already, come on, you can hate it but don't lie like that

This drama started really strong and then, things are slowly going down and even worsened every episode T_T

Like, we rarely had a village setting in a modern drama anymore, produced by a big company, and that too combined with a traditional theme, it's so RARE right now, BROMANCE is the part too, how can they have butchered this 😭

After all, entertainment is about revenue success, and commercially, this drama having a decent success in China, that's what matter to company, but for a long-term word of mouth, this drama won't survive like Hikaru No Go or Little Reunion

2. Nah we need to show how talented this Jiahao actually in making lanters, also, most of those scenes are them bonding after the storm they went through that day

I feel like episode 2 already put Jiahao trauma behind because he finally realizes, the lake is not that deep at all, you can see when he fell from the boat, he was reacting as if he was going to drown but then he just stands as if "Oh, this isn't not deep at all", no disrespect to those people who have trauma, but "some" trauma are fixable but people just can't get rid of their trauma because they were too scared to explore it, well because it's TRAUMA to begin with, thankfully Jiahao experienced it again by forced, so he now realize he is not short kid anymore who will being eaten by the river, and what Jiahao been afraid of is the water not the boat

Also, didn't they say this is just an amateur competition for the village festival? it's not like they are going against professional, that why what they send was traditional family member from each clan to practice, look at Chen family using nepotism to send Ruonan in even though she's a burden during practice, it's amateur and they never really claim to be proficient

4. Completely agree, he served no purpose anymore after that iconic scene on destroying Jiahao mental, beforehand, it moves the plot, but everything after that, he literally just a useless character, well maybe because he's well-known actor so they won't waste him and using him as cameo

after all, those deleted scene are just skin ship these shippers crying about, there are only 2 major scenes being deleted that would really help the plot, ancestral scene and the the hallway night when they decide to cut ties with he

My theory is that because the ancestral hold so much power in the family that He Hongguang put the family honor above humanity on his own kid, HE family predecessor known for pride & honor on dragon boat, so Jiahao's father won't let it down, but he didn't realize (maybe he did) it pressuring Jiahao's life into a Depression stage, since his father looked up to that honor so much & tryna perfecting his kid .

By destroying that, it's kinda imply that he wants to free Jiahao from the burden of being "HE", because even tho it's a holy and sacral tradition, it's ironically the source of his burden, that's why for a brief moment, they were cutting ties and moved out, idk how to simplify this, well in summary

He Hongguang looked up to the honor > causing Jiahao depression > Jiahao ran away > Grandfather got sick > Jiahao and Grandpa basically the person Jiashu loved the most, so he wants to get rid of the cause of their problem

The finale is 23 minutes, the shortest episode of all ! !

Today is the finale, if you can't move on from this genre later, maybe try a similar drama (I'm talking about a brotherly love, having an academic pressure and toxic family environment all-in-one)

1. I don't want to be brothers with you (It's a 2 male lead drama, all scenes and plot resolve around them,)

2. A little reunion (a very heavy FAMILY drama, all about it tbh, this have many leads, parents are also main character, but the main highlight from me is the quarter brother relationship, not recommend for those who only watch drama for skin ship and bl vibe tho)

3. Go Ahead, 3 nonblood related siblings, 2 male 1 female, I don't need to explain more, just watch if you love "FAMILY" drama

4. Obsessed with Heart (also a sibling's love, favoritism parents, this drama is weird, no female character at all except moms)

I can't imagine how mad these shippers would be if the HE siblings dating their crush 😜 Jiashu already deeply staring at the teacher in her sleep
