No one outside Korea should lecture Koreans how to critic things related to their tradition and history. Fiction…
Koreans are entitled to their opinions and the opinions vary. Some koreans are okay with the drama and its representation. Others may have issues and be extremely sensitive. I respect that.
But people are also entitled to have their opinions about how fiction should represent reality - should it be accurate. We are talking its about an imaginary world created in the author/writers mind, and they decide how to interpret that worlds reality, and the laws of nature it exists in.
Also we can have an opinion and make a judgment about how others react to something. I dont know enough about the topic here to make a judgment but i always enjoy open debate, critism, and different opinions. And I dont like it when that is shut down.
knowing how a language is used can reveal so much. thank you for clearing that up. For international viewers (based on TRANSLATION) they left it ambiguous or rather didnt focus on the romantic relationship.
People really need to understand the different between a BL and a Queer story. Shows dont need to be about kissing…
The drama didnt focus on a gay relationship or issues particular to gay relationships. I felt it dealt with experiences , feelings, emotions and tragedies that we all may experience in life and relationships. Its not limited to "non straight people. "
Also I find that term "queer" too be too broad to have any particular meaning. Saying gay or bi or trans has more meaning for me because i can try and understand a particular perspective. I use LGBT ( instead of queer) v BL, ,but LGBT is still such a broad term so I try to be more specific.
BL are romanticised gay relationships written for female audience (core target) - so they are not based on reality, they don't accurately represent gay experiences or how gay men actually behave (and which i think is unfortunate).
I would love it if BLs were more realistic and had a more accurate representation - and if LGBT gay dramas had more happy romances instead of tragedy.
it was a bit much. the song that kept playing drove me nuts too. but I'll keep at it.
Also going to give it a chance because i think the side stories and characters are interesting as well. And its an easy watch ( although not easy on the ears )
the sound effects are annoying me. Its my major criticism about the drama.(Any other issue I have is probable…
Hopefully. They need to understand the word "restrained" and the concept of less is more.
I watched it late last night but was falling asleep and would get woken up by the noise sound effects - they were painful. I have rewatched episode 1 and im enjoying it - i like the sub stories as well.
The sound effects annoy me, Actors are looking good and its not a bad drama, its well produced (again apart from sound) and i hope it does well. But it may not be my taste, about the type of story I enjoy. I may watch another episode before i decide. I also dropped Me and Thee.
am I the only one who dislikes the sound effects used ? I know it may make sense for the comedy but there are other ways to make something funny.
Its an enjoyable and competent drama, an interesting story and great acting - worth the time .
Thai bl actors (the majority) should really attend drama school. They fail to convince me of the roles they are playing - im always aware of how they are trying to act. It tends to make a lot of dramas come across as amateurish
Love Of Silom, Girl Rules, Enemies With Benefits, Flower Boy, and starting Your Dear Daddy
Flower Boy is so good. Deserves more attention. Stumbled across it by accident - the story is a bit different and interesting so far. And the actors are good looking.
There s no grooming, Kanda has no intention for grooming. They meet randomly, they shares their pain. Its Akira…
I agree that laws are relative by country. What is acceptable in one is not in another. So people judging this by their standards is biased. But I think it also depends on the maturity of the people involved. Some 18 yr olds can be very immature as well.
Are you justifying a 20-22 year old sleeping with a 13-15 year old? Thats predatory and gross. I’m not sure…
lol - I was kind of stunned when i did the calculations the other day. I had not payed much attention to them in the drama. There were so many other things that were toxic like the violence, rape and kidnapping and torture that I never thought about that age gap. But its fiction and who am i to judge when I liked Bible/Build story.
It is quite strange that fans would try to ship Jeff/ Barcode in real life. I can accept an age gap in a drama, but in real life its difficult to be comfortable with or justify when its 16 and 26 even if its legal age. Its just such a great difference in mentality and intellect and interests.
But the one drama that made me uncomfortable was Goblin although others defend it. He knew her when she was under 10 yrs old and then had a relationship with her when she was 25. Also they made her act in a childish manner that emphasised the difference in child / adult.

arent you a hypocrite about grooming - in Khemjira the age gap between the main characters, Parun and Khemjira, was 12 years, or because you enjoyed it its fine.
Do you support grooming in this one. Go get some help to deal with you "grooming" issue before pointing fingers at others.

I wonder why???

Maybe you need to stop watching sinful bl gay dramas then if you have a problem with the kissing and focus on evangelical bible reading instead.
I liked the twists and happy ending.
Loving, loosing, accepting the loss and letting go but but still holding on to that person and all that they meant and the memories.
Stumbled across it by accident - the story is a bit different and interesting so far.
And the actors are good looking.
really loving this, intrigued by the story. Its different from most gmmtv plots.
The actors are also gorgeous. All of them
Actors were good looking and had great chemistry

go clutch your pears.
They both rated that show highly. No mention of that grooming relationship.
Dont argue with idiots and hypocrites.
