A lot of them are big fans of kinnporsche and some ship Jeff/barcode had a 10 yr gap - Barcode was about 15 and half when this was being filmed in real life. And there was also a relationship in the drama which was grooming because that intention was to manipulate.

I would never be interested in a relationship with a younger a man (im female).

I guess its also more of the double standards of people who make moral judgments about this series yet ignore others that are worse, or are fans of the couple

I just realised that Jeff Satur was about 26 when Kinnprosche was filmed.

Some of these jeff/barcode fans make a lot of moral judgements about other dramas

without debating this relationship, lets get some facts right.

Laws of biology say we can procreate right after puberty.
Man made laws have decided on a legal age which varies depending on country - a lot say 16 yrs.
From what I have read, frontal lobe is not developed until about 32yrs (they used to think it was in 20s)

In Kinnporshe there was grooming and there was most certainly a romantic relationship between a minor and an adult. The minor Barcode walked away because he felt used. The adult Jeff felt regret and sad when he lost that romantic relationship with a minor. I dont see anybody talking about that on Kinnporshe discussion board. And that was a controlling, manipulative, exploitive relationship - the fans shipped and are shipping

Its selective criticism and selective value judgments that I despise . Its the hypocrisy and double standards. I have a problem with that.

ABOUT THIS THIS DRAMA:
Was the student 13 yrs old and the tutor 22 yrs old when they started the relationship? Why are you lying to make a point?

I didnt say the relationship was necessarily appropriate. The relationship between tutor/student wasnt ideal for either but it offered a lifeline when they were both at a bad place in their life. Akira acknowledged the value of that relationship and the friendship.

Its possible that the tutor didn't want transparency because he wanted Akira to have a better chance at his new relationship or he felt guilty, or because he thought the relationship would not be viewed favourably by others. He may have felt the relationship was inappropriate as well.
Its a work of fiction and the point is to make us think, to look at the grey areas, to challenge us and to get us to debate these issues. That is another reason why I defend this drama and the relationship. I dont want to censor the creative process by imposing my moral judgments and dictating what stories are told. In most countries 16 is legal age. And I personally would rather date the tutor at 16 then some asshole my age who will scar me for life.

There is hypocrisy where the relationship with a minor is ignored in kinnporshce but this relationship in this drama is where they draw the line based on selective morals.

Why is this show only number three in popularity for the "Top Airing Shows" for Thailand on MDL.

It has more watchers/viewers than the other two - "love you teacher" and "Forever you"

I cant seem to figure it out as there is no consistency between number of watchers and ratings score by fans.

People have preferences so its nice to have a variety of bls that cater to the various levels of maturity, intelligence and sophistication. And shipping fans.

Its not a term you should throw around to justify your value judgements or morals.

I dont think a relationship with the tutor was appropriate, but it wasn't abusive. The tutor was maybe a lifeline for Akira, and als willing to let Akira go when the right person came along. Personally if I was a tutor I would not cross that line.
BUT if I went back in time and was 16 and have my maturity, I would rather have a relationship with the tutor, than with someone my age who cheated, lied, abused and scarred me.

BUT again - its just fiction and the story is about entertainment and maybe expanding your horizon. Its not a lesson in morality.

Big shoutout to they hypocrisy of those who complain about AGE CONSENT here, but dont have a problem romanticising violence and gangsters in shows like KinnPorsche that has rape, kidnapping, violence. And they never never mention the age gap between the characters played by Jeff and Barcode who was a minor. Fans are still shipping that one.

Agree. I like Pond but second set of couples are more interesting. .In both series the story improves.

Then maybe you dont think there is a big difference between the mental and physical development of an 8 yr old child v a 14 yr old that can biologically reproduce. One is statutory rape, and the other is an act of violence and rape and goes against physical biology and nature.

lol - I dare say that some people will be very disappointed if they watch it for the grooming and paedophilia that was promised.

Im not advocating for age gaps, but at 17 you are old enough to go to the army and learn to kill.

Personally I would chose a healthy loving relationship with an older man, than a man my age of 17 who is toxic and abusive.

Also too many here who are clutching pearls at the actions of fictional characters.

There is something about Taiwan bl dramas.
This was an enjoyable watch and story was interesting enough to hold my attention. There is great chemistry from both couples. I liked the way the romance developed from both leads.
My one criticism is that I found the fight scenes too obviously staged.

It deserves its high rating.

I want to add that using the word "grooming" anytime you disapprove of something trivialises it. Child grooming and paedophilia are serious offences - but it may be just a joke to you.

You know, there are worse things in life than a mature independent 17 year old being with an older partner. I would say that a relationship with violence, abuse, cheating, assault, kidnapping and torture are worse - but some may disagree as you do.
I would strongly argue that torture and rape is more of a problem, than a slight age gap in a healthy relationship.

Apparently you enjoyed and approved of the rape and torture in (KinnProshe) as you enjoyed and rated that highly - but you draw the line at a slight age difference.

Personally, I think rape and torture in a relationship is worse than a relationship with an age gap with a mature and independent seventeen year old that lives alone and holds a job.
But even then I also dont moralise that much about the relationships in KinnPorsche as its a work of fiction.
