Idk if someone else has noticed it but post Covid, kdrama and cdrama have been embarrassing. I look at the dramas pre 2020 and you can see the difference in the way the scripts were written, the acting of the entire cast, the directors did a better job.
Even low budget dramas had a way to keep you interested for the most part. Now what we have is low quality work, high budget but somehow halfway the whole thing goes to 💩.
Now smart leads become stupid at the halfway mark (especially if there’s romance 🙄), actors barely act…
We were served dramas like Yanxi Palace, Ruyi’s royal love etc… now we are forced fed ridiculous plots.
Everything (not just dramas) is awful now after 2020, people seem to not care about excellence anymore and that’s in all aspects of life.
Reading the comments to see if I should come back but nope, the show sounds more and more ridiculous… at this point I wouldn’t be surprised to read that aliens came to kidnap Mudan and ml vowed to marry their queen to free Mudan.

I agree, I’m really enjoying it. I’m on episode 12 and really looking forward to the other episodes. It’s much better than any of the big names long dramas currently airing.
In just one episode and with her eyes only, Liu Ling Zi gave us more expressions than what we got from fl’s whole face. We could see sadness, anger and evil planning in her eyes. Fl with all 22 episodes so far delivered only big red eyes and pouty lips…
I don’t like comparing actors/actresses but I also don’t like when I feel disrespected as a viewer. ML, I’m really hoping he will get better roles as it’s my second time seeing him (first In Blossom that i dropped because of fl acting).
Fl, second time seeing her (first in ironically “Blossom”) but I’ll make sure to avoid her dramas.
I hope Liu Ling Zi character doesn’t die. Reminds me of when I continued watching “The Double” just for the performance of the actress who played the evil princess.
I went to check episode 22 because I was told I’d like it 😑… I saw the “Did you not hear my daughter?” part and I’m now here for villain Liu Ling Zi. I didn’t want that for her but she’s giving a vibe and I’m here for it. She’ll be the only one I watch, I’m skipping all the others.
ML and FL “relationship” is now considered side character romance, they, the damn poison with “revenge”, and that stupid little sis are not relevant anymore.
I think I am the only one in the world but I don’t like Lee Jong Suk. I want to like him but for whatever reason…
I’m there with you, idk why I feel that way but it is what it is. We are free to feel whatever we want without needing validation or others to understand us.
His next drama scripwriter is Tun Hua, and the partner is Tan Song Yun. Promising.
I plan on doing that. I will come daily on here to read the comment and pick up again if I see that the misunderstandings are cleared and they are working together.

Seriously, how did she get FL role while casting for the same drama as Liu Ling Zi? Didn’t the directors notice the big contrast ?
