Title The Princess's Gambit Spoiler
I’m still watching but literally she’s been gaslighting him from ep 18 til now 😒
Omg you are still on this train 😭??? Jump off, my friend! I’ll catch you!

Let me tell you, I started Yanxi Palace last week and I’m embarrassed that I even started and enjoyed this one at the beginning. The contrast between the two dramas made me realize how idiotic this one is. You wont catch me in these dramaland streets again watching nonsense like this Gambit.

This show makes me want to punch the air when I think about how long I waited for it and how my hopes were high. I haven’t watched since I abandoned it but your comments are telling me all I need to know smh.

Yes. The answer is yes, go ahead and watch. Yes, 70 episodes is a lot but you can do it, the story will captivate…
They don’t make this quality of dramas anymore 😭.

I love Yang Zi but this show is boring as hell. Are all Chinese as asexual as them ? Do they think children come…

As you age, you start to feel that things were better when you were younger. :)That said, it's a different environment…
1) I wasn’t asking for a validation of my opinion.

2) I wasn’t asking for a solution as I know there are other dramas. I noticed the quality of dramas are dropping and I see a few other comments saying similar opinions which is good.

Thanks for your input.

I really hate that as well. I dont understand why the characters start being strong, smart, bad ass and then when…
Right! Where did all the smart go? Or in the case of this one, they are smart enough to read other people but they can’t read each other?

I also dislike how predictable things become halfway.

Thank you for understanding my comment!

“ But it may not be exactly the type of dramas they made before.”

This was the point, the type and quality of work is not the same. I started watching dramas during Covid so idk about the nostalgia. I just noticed that the quality released now is lazy work. As the first person who replied to me said “ especially if the tropes had been overused and there's nothing new brought in.” That person understood my post.

I don’t think it’s about age, there are older people who act immature and younger people who act really mature.

Imo it’s about appreciating good quality work 🤷‍♀️.

I do agree that creativity is neglected.

At the end of the day it all just boils down to personal preferences that's reality.
Very true, you see that in everyday life. The way people behave is different, idk how to put it here but I’m sure you know what I’m thinking. It’s not how it used to be, to think the change happened in just 6yrs…

True but if you stick to the same genre for years, you can notice how things are going down hill…

Idk if someone else has noticed it but post Covid, kdrama and cdrama have been embarrassing. I look at the dramas pre 2020 and you can see the difference in the way the scripts were written, the acting of the entire cast, the directors did a better job.

Even low budget dramas had a way to keep you interested for the most part. Now what we have is low quality work, high budget but somehow halfway the whole thing goes to 💩.

Now smart leads become stupid at the halfway mark (especially if there’s romance 🙄), actors barely act…

We were served dramas like Yanxi Palace, Ruyi’s royal love etc… now we are forced fed ridiculous plots.

Everything (not just dramas) is awful now after 2020, people seem to not care about excellence anymore and that’s in all aspects of life.

Reading the comments to see if I should come back but nope, the show sounds more and more ridiculous… at this point I wouldn’t be surprised to read that aliens came to kidnap Mudan and ml vowed to marry their queen to free Mudan.
