They need to stop wasting my time with side stories and characters that don’t add much to the drama. I want to see more of ShuJun and Rui, they are the most entertaining of the whole cast so far. I don’t think we need more than 2 episodes each times to deal with cheating side stories men, first it was that disgusting Wecai and now it’s Xie Ji (or whatever his name is).

If you are looking for mainstream romance with kissing and cuddling scenes where ml protects his woman, this is not it.

Here physical contact is not the main way they express their romance. Watch if you want to see a supportive couple being strategic in the political scene.

One of the tags for this drama is “romance” and I believe there are enough comments here to imply that yes, there’s romance between the leads. I’m not sure where the confusion is coming from.
