I’m trying to make “recommendations” for this drama but I don’t find anything that comes close to this in terms of satisfaction and similar storyline with a woman disguised as a man then becomes an “emperor”. This drama is raising the bar for this type of plot.

I think Chinese and Korean dramas are trying to please the international audience so much that they are losing their essence. Whatever cliché worked on international fan base before, they keep recycling it.
Also, this new wave of Asian dramas fans seem really young and they don’t appreciate intelligent dramas much, they don’t care about the script as long as the visual is great and the actors “hot”. As a result, screenwriters have it easy, they don’t work as hard.

I don’t fully agree with the OP because the “man” is a monster who is centuries old so I understand it’s fantasy world and I’m waiting to see who she will end up with.
What grossed me out was seeing the man, the actor Kim Young-kwang who played the human shape of the monster looking at that little girl (actress).
My uneasiness came from what I’m seeing happening in society with sick adults thoughts towards children. That’s why for THAT scene I was disgusted and borderline went on defensive mode.
Also, the recent case with the famous Korean actor (I will not mention him but I think you know who) , I’m more suspicious when there are older male actors around child actresses. Which is why I said our times will shape what we tolerate.

Unfortunately, I don’t know. I watch it on one of those free websites. If you don’t want to go the free route, Viki can be a good alternative, it’s just that sometimes they are behind when they release episodes.

1) you have no idea if I like the drama or not (I actually like it).
2) when viewers watch, sometimes, scenes in a drama can wake up a sensation that will be personal to a viewer due to what the viewer experienced in their personal life, it has nothing to do with the drama itself.
3) no matter if it’s a historical drama or fictional, our current times can affect how we react to what we are being told. Our modern experiences can shape our tolerance to what we see.
I’ll wait for you to point me where in my comment I judged other viewers.

I thought he was referring to the dream he had and the feelings he was starting to have. I believe he was relieved to see it was a woman and that he was not dreaming about a man.

Right. Why not ignore rumors? It gives false hope and the disappointment seems to be big on some people. Just ignore and watch something else and whenever it drops, watch. Real life already has enough disappointments, why add more?

I want to know who is starting these rumors when it comes to airing dates (applies to all dramas). Who starts them? why do they spread and why do people believe outside sources? Maybe for sanity’s sake all rumors should be ignored, wait until the show just surprises the audience by dropping whenever it decides to drop.

Same! I almost dismissed the drama, the title and the picture didn’t appeal to me, glad I overlooked all that and tried.
While watching, I get so invested that I forget it’s a short drama. The casting, the acting, the costumes… everything is 😍👌.
This short drama is much better than many of the long ones we’ve been fed lately.
