Not sure how far you got but ep 7 with the silly petals. All over the bed and on their faces, I have a feeling they accidentally ingested flower petals while filming.
I think at some point, us viewers, will have to find a way to let writers know that we are NOT okay with romanticizing any types of assaults. Forcing physical contact aka SA (forcing kisses), Locking someone in a cage is fine because it’s “love”? ML is suffocating and plain dangerous.
Another drama recently, stalking (this case was extreme too) was approved because the man “loved the girl and wanted to help her have a better life.”
Let me also throw in the chokehold while pinning to the wall the men sometimes do to women when they are either angry or trying to “seduce” them.

Update: I dropped this drama. Ep 7 was the one that completely ruined it, between the petals galore, him taking advantage of her while drugged, seeing her in a cage, ml annoying personality and his angry whispering way of talking … I CANNOT!
The title of the drama + Sol Kyung Gu + Kim Hee Ae = me having high expectations that this drama will keep me on the edge and I’m here for it! Adding to my list, thank you!

I’ll give this drama 3 more episodes until I decide to drop it because I don’t see the development that can happen and make me like his character somehow. The man is insufferable.

They don’t really officially get together as a couple until the last couple of episodes. It’s due to the fact that her status while in the palace doesn’t allow her to be with anyone other than the king and the king himself getting in their ways. That said, starting around mid drama, they flirt and it’s subtle and implied that their feelings for each other are mutual. This is a sloooooow burn until they become a couple. Forget seeing more than them holding hands. It’s still a beautiful love story.
to me, miscommunication is real life stuff, what's a story without conflicts and tension, be boring
We all have different life experiences so I won’t discredit yours. In my life experience, yes there can be miscommunication from time to time. I cannot compare real life to Chinese dramas life. It was exaggerated here imo but again, it’s normal for dramas but not real life.

I have this long list of “plan to watch” and not one is airing, for the majority of them there’s some type of hold.
I watched Study Group and enjoyed it. I’ll check out the other one you mentioned.
