and also that video from yesterday, where Nanyi takes Xie Queshan’s waist amulet and dangles it in front of him—right as he realizes she stole it—felt like such a perfect callback to the beginning of the novel, when she pickpocketed his pouch. It’s such a full-circle moment. I love details like that, it was so sweet
that video where Nanyi and Zhang Yuehui bumped into each other at the festival but didn’t recognise each other was kinda sad. she waited for him for so long and when she finally moved on, he appeared again, looking for her. wow I did not expect that this novel I read a couple weeks ago was getting adapted 😂 I just remember seeing some rumours online about Li Xian & Zhang jingyi getting casted but didnt connect it with this novel lolol. pleasantly surprised, looking forward to the drama!
